Miss Toucan’s Sweatshop

March 18th, 2008 @ 2:51 pm by Mrs. Toucan

Remember those favors I’ve been slaving over? Well, I finally decided to call in reinforcements. I sent out a little e-invitation inviting both Mr. Toucan’s and my families over for a “party.”

Muahaha… little did they know. When Saturday rolled around, in came my little workers… um, I mean guests*.

After everyone arrived, the work began. Hmmm… poor working conditions (look at them all sit on the floor), high risk of injury (cold Boston weather + lots of paper = ouchy papercuts!)**, and little pay (I only pay in pizza, sorry)… sounds eerily like a sweatshop…

I’m not that mean though… like I said, I fed them pizza during their 5 minute*** break.

Now it’s back to work! Here’s a little of the nice assembly line action:

Slowly, more and more completed favors were getting into the box:After just a few hours of work, we had fully completed 100 of our favors! And, I could send this ginormous box home with my parents:Phew! While it was really hard for me to accept help with my wedding projects (because I’m anal like that), I really appreciated all the help, and it really ended up being a lot of fun! We even have tentative plans this weekend to finish up the rest of the favors!

*none of the “workers” were tricked into coming, and all came at their own free will (except for Mr. Toucan… muahahaha!)
**no family members were injured in the making of these favors
***5-minute break is a slight exaggeration :)

Awesome! I totally understand the getting help thing too.
So, maybe I missed a post - but what are the favors? What’s in the box?

Clearly, Miss Toucan, you only gave them a 1 minute break! Time is money!
