I’ll admit it. I’m a bad, bad bird. I’m a stalker- a registry stalker. 
I have a good reason for registry stalking though (at least on the first offense)! We are registered at three stores: Macy’s, Crate and Barrel, and Bed Bath and Beyond. Originally, we had only registered at Macy’s and Crate and Barrel, but then I found out that some of my china was cheaper at Bed Bath and Beyond. Since our invitations went out last week (post on that coming soon, promise), I had to rush to add stuff and move stuff from our Macy’s registry to our new Bed Bath and Beyond registry… and that is when I found out a few of my place settings were already bought!
After that, I was hooked. I watched a few other things get purchased off our list, and it only feeds my habit. Bad, Miss Toucan, bad! I’m a STALKER and SURPRISE RUINER! I need to stop this addiction!
Who else registry stalks? Would you rather know, or be surprised?
Total stalker here. I’m too impatient 
At first I just wanted to make sure it was working and items weren’t going out of stock or discontinued (after reading some of those horror stories in the posts here) … But now that my shower has passed I am going to try to stop checking.
GUILTY!
i’m afraid it’s only going to get worse from here on out (showers in 2 weeks and wedding in 3 months)!!
Because my FMIL receives all my presents, I have been having her open them so that I can send the thank yous right away. However, if the gift is wrapped, she doesn’t want to unwrap it. So, immediately I start stalking who has bought what. I think I’m really doing the gift giver a favor by getting them the thank you card so quickly … right?
FMIL realized what I was doing and thinks that I should be surprised, so now I’m lying about it. LOL
Be careful! Someone bought our wine opener - and we have yet to see it! AND… we’re coming up on our one year anniversary!! There are a couple other ghost items too!!
Also with BB&B - for some reason if the purchaser also purchases other items on their shopping trip - and your registry # is already in the system for the transaction (I’m guessing) those other items will show on our your registry as purchased, even though you didn’t ask for them, and even though they aren’t for you
It is fun to watch things be bought and receive the packages though!! Especially the things you’ve always wanted but really wouldn’t purchase for yourself
I totally stalk…but I’m the birthday/Christmas surprise ruiner too. I just can’t stand not knowing.
@OnlySupernova: haha, me too! I bug Mr. Toucan every year to tell me what he got me for xmas. I’m so bad! 
Miss Toucan- that’s our pattern too!! It’s SO beautiful, isn’t it?!? I loved it.
i stalk too! i got all indignant the other day when someone bought some bowls at williams sonoma that we didn’t register for. grrr….
@BA: Yes! I first registered for a plainer pattern, but then decided to go for this one… all of our fine china will be used as “decoration” for every day of the year except for Holidays!
@marisa: So weird that people can add stuff to your registry when they buy it, huh?
From your title I so thought you were looking at random peoples registry and stalking what they had on them!!! hahaha
I stalk ALL THE TIME!! With ten days til the wedding, it’s my favorite stress reducer!
Oh I am terrible! I’m not even getting a shower and invitations just went out last week.
Guilty as well. But I just…can’t…help…myself.
if only i were a good liar…. my fiance gives me disapproving looks because he knows i can’t help it (he even restricted me for the week before my first shower!) it’s just SOOOO addicting!!!
I probably wouldn’t have thought to stalk until I started reading Weddingbee. Now I know I won’t be able to stop.

Is that strange or obsessive much? 
totally stalk my registry! although, so far I’ve resisted temptation on the “thank you note manager” — so while I can see what has been purchased, I don’t know WHO did the purchasing. Small steps…
