About Ms. Dahlia

Oh The Places…

March 19th, 2008 @ 4:22 pm by Ms. Dahlia

Our invitations are going.

As I was addressing the invitations, I was surprised to see just how far away some of them are headed. Since both Mr. Dahlia and I grew up in Ohio and currently live in Michigan, I figured that the vast majority of our invitations were headed to those states.

And they are. But they are also going to a lot of other places: 58 cities in 19 states in 3 countries. Closest place is to our home (we addressed one to ourselves!); farthest away is in Ulm, Germany.

Was anyone else surprised to see the places their invitations were going? What’s the farthest place your wedding invitations are going?

The closest ours are going is Chicago. The farthest is India. We also have invites going to California, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New York, Florida, New Jersey, Georgia, Tennessee, Arizona, Texas, Michigan, Washington DC, as well as England, Pakistan, and India.

It’s kind of crazy to think about!

what a great post! Its amazing to see how far your invites are going, Miss D! Our farthest invites are going to Thailand. In the states, we surprisingly only have a few…California, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, and Arizona!

I was mostly surprised that my fiance’s entire extended family all lives in the exact same place… and they never see each other, or talk. 95% of his invitations are all within a 20 minute drive of Philadelphia. My parents invitations, on the other hand, are totally spread out between Boston down to Florida, and a few in the midwest — no more than 2 couples per city. And our friends are all over the country, since everyone moved around after undergrad.
Our closest invitation is going to a friend in my Ph.D. program who lives 2 buildings down (in Washington, DC) and the furthest is headed to Alaska.

We have ones going to our home (New York), too, but then also Florida, Connecticut, DC, Indiana, Massachusetts, Amsterdam, England, India and Italy. It’s definitely interesting.

England. And I loved getting the reply card back, it was so cool. Were you able to pre-postage your invite to Germany?

I have a similar spread. With a total of 90 people on our guest list we are really have a several different locations —-RI, MA, NY, NJ, DC, MD, VA, KY, OH, SC, GA, FL, TN, CO, NV, CA and Sweden.
To bad no one is close enough to help me stuff and address them. :)

Sadly, I did not pre-postage the response card for Germany (or Canada). I figured that my friend and Mr. D’s aunt can cover the cost of the response envelope.

Closest was going around the corner to our friends that live a mile away…

But our invites were mailed from our parents house, not ours. So it did have the make the trek from Upstate NY back to GA :)

Furthest? Austraila. Or Israel - not sure which is farther. We had a few to Canada too!
