About Mrs. Cherry Blossom

…to these!!! Oh how I’ve learned to love them even though I hated them soooooooooo badly.

Here is the reveal of our invitations for our Chinese Banquet. (Thanks a million trillion gazillion to our friend Wendy, who helped us MAJOR in ALL of the graphics!

It started off all neat ….

Then assembly time came …

All hell just about broke loose when I had to make 100 English versions, and 200 Chinese versions. Robot CB just glued her PHATabulous arse to the chair and just kept pounding them out and yes, I did recruit Mr. CB to become a robot as well.

Inside you’ll find, one of either version. The English version, for our guest list:

Or the Chinese Version for our parents’ guest list.

Version 1 of our idea started with FFIL’s amazing Chinese penmanship which we had planned to mass produce, but after much review, and last minute stress, I emergency called family in HK to type out the text via their Microsoft Word program. A very uncomfortable night of sleep later, I woke up at 5 am to find the all important email and we hurriedly signed off on our final version so I could finish the invitations by the deadline.

Version1:

Look how many more guests the parents are inviting than us!

Tucked behind our invitations, snuggled behind some gorgeous satin ribbon, are our direction cards and RSVPs.

Chinese version RSVP (we omitted the message to allow guests to write a well wish likewe did on our English version RSVP because the parents thought older Chinese guests would miss it.)

The back of our English RSVP. (Thanks Becca for helping me with that line, simple and to the point - my brain was fried, and my girl helped me with it! After 1.5 Months, I Gave Birth!!! : wedding diy invitations san francisco Kiss202 kiss202 )

Although I loooooooooove the RSVP envelopes, we decided that the postcard idea was a little more cost effective and an adorable idea (not without its pitfalls which I’ll go over next time…)

Ta da! Our invitations in a nutshell.

@Christine: I actually bought the riso gocco racks. If you’re in the city, they sell it at pearls art and crafts.

My friend actually referred me to a store named Arch in the city that sells a ton of gocco supplies as well. Or most definitely you will be able to find them online.

Oh, my gosh, I love the branch-y graphics! Would you mind sharing? I especially love the one that starts at the top of the page - a portion of that would be perfect for placecards.

Please let me know! Thank you! :)
