Thank You Notes

March 20th, 2008 @ 4:04 pm by Ms. Dahlia

Way back before our invitations were finished, I found myself getting antsy one night to just take care of a wedding project.I present to you the recipe for our simple but tasty thank you notes.

The Dahlia’s Thank You Notes

1 stack of cardstock (I got ours from Office Max)
1 embosser*
1 paper cutter
envelopes (Ours are from Envelope Mall. They are leftover from our response card envelopes.)

The supplies

Directions:
Cut the paper in half:

Fold. Align your folded cardstock in the embosser. I used one piece of cardstock as a guide, although there are probably more accurate ways to make sure your embossing is centered.

Press down on the embosser, and presto! One thank you note down.

To make things even fancier, we’ve also taken to embossing the envelopes.

And that’s it. Inexpensive, simple but elegant thank you notes.

What are you doing for your thank you notes?

(*author’s note: Our embosser came from Wilshire Graphic Press. I got lucky and won it in a contest.)

They are beautiful! and so very classic.
May I ask where you got your embosser? The only ones I’ve found so far are boring initials only, but love yours!

OOO! The embossing is definitely the classiest way to go IMO! I might have to go order one for myself now :)

I’m glad you like the thank you notes!

MrsJones, our embosser came from Wilshire Graphic Press.

I immediately added embosser to my wish list! I want one! I love the little special detail it adds. Too bad it isn’t in the budget.

I painstakingly selected the best imprint of each of our chops, scanned them, and had a local commercial printer do up cards. We used vellum envelopes to show them off, and we got a bazillion (since they don’t say “thank you” or refer to the wedding at all, I figure we can use them for anything).

If you have any Quark, PageMaker, InDesign, or even MS Publisher skillz, small commercial printers may be the way to go. As long as you know enough of the lingo to understand their spec sheets, you’ll be okay.

I know for a fact it was easier than imprinting our chops ourselves!

Yay for Wiltshire embossers! I loved ours and will be using it for stationery eventually. Every piece of paper in the wedding got embossed =)
