Cannibals!

March 23rd, 2008 @ 3:23 pm by Mrs. Cream Puff

Momma Puff is in town! That’s why I’ve been MIA. I’ll be back soon with a bunch of new stuff!

It’s kind of amazing that I don’t weigh 600 pounds, I kid you not. I do not eat well. I am not that impressed with regular food–eating meals is kind of a pain in the neck. I hate trying to figure out what to eat, and I hate cooking. Snacking on the other hand…well, let’s just say I could be a professional snacker. My love for snacking, however, pales in comparison to my love of almost all things sweet. You’ve all seen how I feel about mini eggs. I love them. But I love other desserts, too. For instance, I love cookies. And cake. And cupcakes. And cream puffs. Yes, that’s right, I love cream puffs, specifically Beard Papas. Holy moly, how delicious. When it came time to pick a name for myself, I definitely had to pick cream puff. Not only because I love cream puffs, but because it’s such a funny nickname. Anyway, I digress. I started this post to share the following pictures with you. It’s me and Mr. Cream Puff, eating our own kind:

MMM, delicious.

He looks a little guilty, don’t you think?

I had Beard Papas for the first time ever this weekend (they only recently opened in Vancouver and the line ups have been INSANE!) and boy are they ever good! I can’t wait to try the other flavours - they only had vanilla and strawberry when I was there!

I’m a snackaholic myself. Cookies, candy, chips, you name it I eat it.

There is an excellent recipe for home-made creampuffs on allrecipes.com - it’s in their top 20 desserts! I had them at a dinner party and they were just decadent.

Papa Beard’s are the best…my favorite are the chocolate ones! Did you go to the SF Shopping Center one? (they ALWAYS have such long lines!) or the Yerba Buena? Anyway…I can concur..they are DELICIOUS!;-)

This gross display of cannibalism is quite frankly disturbing. And delicious.

Ha! Love this. I’m a huge fan of scones myself. Not the Starbucks kind but more the freshly baked, English kind with jam and a cup of tea! I just heard about this amazing place on 3rd street in West Hollywood called Chado, that does great fresh scones! I am going there asap!

It’s too bad you weren’t able to come over the weekend. Not only did I make charoset for the first time (I love me some charoset), but we had an Easter egg hunt. I totally channeled you when picking the candy for it and I only bought Mini Eggs - regular and dark chocolate.

Now that I’ve tried dark chocolate I’ve gone over to the dark (chocolate) side.

Once you go black you never go back.

I like my Mini Eggs like I like my men…

Okay, I’ll stop with the weird dark/black lines.
Cute pics!

Yummy! At least Mr. Cream Puff shares the same sentiment as you…my bf on the other hand…let’s just say always the only one oooh-ing and ahh-ing at a bakery/dessert shop.

And funny you say it’s a wonder why you’re not 600 lbs. I went over to my bf’s aunt’s house once and she was serving coffee…I asked for TWO spoonfuls of REGULAR sugar (after she offered me Splenda) and then asked, how are you so skinny?? And then she saw me eat 2 cupcakes haha.
