I’ve mentioned before that Mr. Flamingo and I have a very honest relationship and I love that. Before we started officially going out (Mr. F had been asking me out on a date for over 8 months) he composed a song for me because I wasn’t certain if I liked Mr. Flamingo enough to date him. I guess he was trying to win me over… well it worked. 
Mr. Flamingo composed the tune and the lyrics. He originally wrote it in French and a good friend translated it in English (because I spoke English and I guess he wanted to impress me). He is the one singing and playing guitar - please remember (Mr. F is french and doesn’t speak English very well.)

Honesty Time
When I heard the song, tears fell down my face. No one has ever written me a song before and this one was so beautiful.
Every Thursday (don’t ask me why we chose that day), we have a session of Honesty Time. Basically it’s a time allotted to talk about everything throughout the week and the rule is we need to be 110% honest. It isn’t always pretty, but I think that it’s one of the recipes to a great relationship.

omg! that was sooo cute! i loved it!
while at school, i was working in the admin building. it was valentine’s day and the last day to add or drop classes for the quarter, so it was very crowded. my guy calls me and asks me to come out. and a barber shop quartet, all dressed up in red and white greet me, each holding a rose. they sang me 4 songs, each giving me a rose before they sang the song. my guy stands next to me as they serenade me in front of hundreds of students. acoustics in the buidling were awesome! staff and faculty start to trickle out to the halls. i’m balling the entire time. for the life of me, i have no idea what songs they sang, but it was one of the best feelings ever…next to his proposal.
Flamingo, we have weekly “meetings” too. We got the idea from another couple whose marriage counselor suggested it. It’s a great to have a set appointment to check-in and address any issues before they build up. We always try to say something positive as well as tackle any problems. I REALLY recommend!

My FH is not so talented musically, but he can be very sweet. He was on a trip in Chicago (We live in Pittsburgh) when I had to go to the ER. He drove all the way back and was there when my parents brought me home. It was such a relief to see his car in the driveway when we pulled in. 5 days later he proposed!

Mr. Radish is also a musician and he’s written a few songs for me over the years. There was one he wrote a few years ago that is my favorite and he surprised me and played it at the wedding. It was so cute!
