Introducing Adobe Photoshop Express

March 29th, 2008 @ 6:13 pm by Mrs. Bee

Adobe Photoshop has just introduced Photoshop Express, a free web-based version (nothing to download) of Photoshop that includes some of Photoshop’s most used features.  They also offer 2 gb of free online photo storage so you can upload, organize, and share pictures, and even create slideshows.

Adobe Photoshop is a very powerful but expensive program, so this is an excellent alternative for photo editing software.  Once I’ve played around with the program a bit, I’ll write a full review.

If you’ve given Photoshop Express a try, please let us know what you think about it! :)

Yay for Mrs Bee for letting us know about this!

PERFECT timing as I was just trying to figure out how to justify shelling out the $$$$ for Photoshop– still very spendy even AFTER mr beanchar’s academic discount.

I’ll definitely check this out! We just got Photoshop Elements… I’ve never used the full version, but I’m finding that I can do everything I want to do with Elements (which is WAY cheaper).

Yes, I use Photoshop Elements as well, and I’ve used it to design my entire stationary set for the wedding…it has worked GREAT. I’ve only run into a couple of things that PSE can’t do that Photoshop can (can’t make words on a path, can’t set “kerning” between letters, only can adjust leading, etc.) But overall, I think it’s a great alternative, so if Photoshop Express compares to PSE, I’d TOTALLY dig an online version with storage space!

I have Photoshop Elements, but I haven’t even tried it yet. I guess I’m kickin’ it old skool.

But this is great! Thanks for the heads up, Mrs. Bee! It’s great to have when I’m at work or not near my computer to do what I must with my images and graphics. :)

This is great. I’ve always wanted to learn how to use the (old) Photoshop. Now I can skip that and learn this instead.

i messed around with it for a couple minutes and this definitely has nothing on photoshop elements. maybe they will add more features but right now there are just a few things to make your picture a little spiffier. doesn’t have nearly as many filters as photoshop elements and you can’t add layers and text (like if you wanted to make invitations).

so if you actually are going to be doing anything other than sharing photos with friends you’d probably need elements.

Before using photoshop express you should read their terms of service. Apparently they are granting themselves exclusive rights to anything used within photoshop express.

Hi hive,

Andy is right. Adobe has full rights of any of your photos. Even if you have cancelt your membership. They can sell your photos without asking you or giving you any money from the sells.

So be careful.

YIKES!

So diabolically genius of them…but if you want something for free, you usually have to give in return right?
