About Mrs. Lovebug

Your Opinion, Please

March 29th, 2008 @ 12:33 pm by Mrs. Lovebug

Help me, hive. I want to attach typewriter keys to the clutch of my bouquet to match Mr. LB’s typewriter key cufflinks and, well, everything else in our wedding. But I can’t decide. Do I go classic and use “LOVE” (The theme of our wedding being The Sweetest Type of Love)? Or do I go clever, and use “2 B MRS”?

These are the keys that my personal slave, Elizabeth of Keys and Memories, cut and cleaned for me. And here’s a mock-up of my bouquet handle that I “designed” out of some duchess satin (on sale!) and silver satin ribbon:

What do you think? Stick with LOVE or try the 2 B MRS? LOVE is spaced nicely… But dang it, I love me the wordplay!

Voting begins…NOW!

I vote for “love.”

I like “Love” because I think the spacing in “2 B Mrs” would be quite cramped. Plus, how comfortable is your bouquet handle to hold with more versus less keys? (You don’t want to be holding something ridiculously uncomfortable for a whole day!)

maybe just “mrs” and then the clutch would be a little shorter?

How about ‘I <3 m-o-u-n-t-a-i-n l-i-o-n-s’. Yeah…that should totally fit; literally and figuratively ;)

Hmmm can you figure out a place to use the one you don’t use on your bouquet? Like (depending on your heel height) on the back of your heels? Could look totally awesome if done right (that would have to be LOVE though, can’t imagine the other letters fitting).

This is an adorable idea!!! so clever. I like LOVE, for most of the reasons stated above. also, remember, you have to leave room for your fingers to go between the letters on that bouquet! even though it’s not as aesthetically pleasing, you might consider moving the whole shebang down a little so that your pinky will go underneath the “L” and the rest of your hand will go above it when you are holding the bouquet…

Go for L-O-V-E. Simple and classic. The other is too…I dunno…textspeak? Plus I agree with the hive that the ribbon should be a bit wider.

I like LOVE, plain and simple and easier for people to spot it as you go by. The wordplay might take a second glimpse.

LOVE… the other one is too confusing!

Definitely “Love”

You’ll spend most of your wedding as an actual “Mrs.” so the “2 be Mrs” would only really apply for a few minutes, making your bouquet obsolete after the vows.

I like L-O-V-E. And you KNOW I l-o-v-e the wordplay too, but I don’t think it works in this instance– I don’t like the idea of “2 B Mrs” b/c it’s about your title and doesn’t seem to express your personality properly.

And I for one like the thin ribbons (even though I know it’s just a mock-up and you may have other plans for the real thing) b/c it reminds me of typewriter ribbon and thus supports the theme.

I do agree with whoever said to make sure the keys are placed so you can hold it comfortably.

The shoe idea is also great— is there room on the soles to put the date? Actual keys might be too clunky, but you could use your little sticker maker and cut out photos of keys…. See here: http://www.whatsyourtype.com/images/keyboard_black.jpg

I think that “Love” makes more sense and here’s why. During your solo-aisle walk and during the beginning of the ceremony you will B “2 B Mrs; however from the moment you are pronounced until the end of the day….not so much….so it would no longer make sense! …although, If I picture it correctly, there could be two sides to your bouquet and you could do both….

I’m Stickin with LOVE… besides you will have your bouquet during the reception as well when you will be a mrs

If you are doing a keep bouquet and a toss bouquet you can do both (and have pictures of both), and toss the love one and keep the 2bmrs one forever!!!

i say you should have 2 be Miss on your bouquet, and if your florist gives you a seperate bouquet to toss have LOVE on that one. That way you get both :D

Late to the game! Love “love” cause its shorter! “LOVEJUGS” is also a decent option. I dunno, just think about it.

I vote for LOVE. You will only be a 2B for about 45 minutes of the day. The majority of the time, you will be a Mrs.! Your mock looks great, by the way! Great job!

maybe you can use one for the bouquet and the other for the garter or something. this way youre not wasting it and can still use both.

OK, I’m not going to do an actual tally b/c I’m lazy like that (see? I don’t even spell “because” out), but I’m definitely getting the sense that LOVE is the better option. Agreed, really.

Done and done! Thanks everyone! :)
