If “tablescaping” is a word, is “centerpiecescaping” one, too? Because that’s what I’ve been doing. Centerpiecescaping. In fact, I recently published an entire series of books, all in the name centerpiecescaping:
Mr. Cupcake and I had the pleasure of attending a cake tasting this weekend. We had been to one previously with another baker, and weren’t highly impressed with the cake itself or the baker’s portfolio (filled with lots of columns, cascading flowers, and overall most things I despise about traditional wedding cakes). It was actually even difficult to tell what the cake really tasted like, because the slivers he gave us were so thin that you couldn’t get a real gauge on the texture.
At my mom’s wedding back in February, we had an absolutely heavenly lemon pound cake with lemon curd, lemon buttercream, and fondant from Sweet Jazmine’s in Berwyn, PA. My mom had gone with Sweet Jazmine’s blindly, without even tasting their cake, because a friend so enthusiastically recommended them. The cake was so beyond delicious that I can’t even come up with a better word to truly express its deliciousness. It also looked completely adorable:

I only wore my veil for the ceremony and our formal shots (where the wind kicked it around like a kite in flight, argh). I do wish though that I would have worn it longer. It’s like some mystical shroud you’d really only wear on the day of your wedding, and that alone seems to make it special.

Hello, all! Sorry it’s been a while — things got unbearably busy in the last weeks before our wedding. But the Tulips are now Mr. and Mrs!

Okay, here we go! I’ve shown y’all some details, and you’ve seen some non-pro pics, but it’s now that time to really start posting our professional wedding pictures by the fabulous 35 Atlanta.
So here we go - pictures of me and my girls getting ready!
We didn’t actually start getting ready until about 1:30 or 2:00 in the afternoon. Since our ceremony was scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m., we actually had other things going on that day. I ran a 5K that morning, and my mother-in-law’s best friend threw us a perfectly lovely bridesmaids luncheon at the perfectly-Atlanta Swan Coach House. We were a little rushed leaving lunch, and we headed back to my house to begin getting ready as quickly as we could.
Things were pretty hectic - at one point, we had one bride, six bridesmaids, three beauty professionals, two friends, one mom, one cousin, and two photographers in our little 1200 sq. ft. house, but I wouldn’t have changed our setup for the world. I was kind of frazzled, rarely sitting down and constantly coming up with “one more thing” that needed to be done, but someone was always one step behind me, taking the dustpan out of my hand, cleaning up the wine glasses from the coffee table, and steaming the bridesmaids dresses and sashes.

Bridal show listings were our wiki of the day on Friday, so today’s wikis of the day are sample sale listings and trunk show listings!
If you know of any upcoming sample sales or trunk shows in your area, please add them to the wiki! We’ll work together to update these listings regularly, and make it the most comprehensive and up to date resource for brides-to-bee! ![]()

By this point in my planning I was a full-on weddingbee addict, and had a new vocabulary word that I was quite intrigued by: Gocco. My DIY fears kept me from fully considering it as an option, but bee after bee kept turning out gorgeous custom stuff- and on the cheap! I decided it was worth a closer look. On a chance flickr search, I discovered HeatherJeany. This talented lady designs and Gocco prints wedding invites- and other custom goodies. I pored over her sample work, and LOVED what I saw. I contacted her right away and got a quote on wedding invites. Here are some that I was especially nuts over:
Oh, weddingbee community, have I told you lately that I love you? That you are the SMARTEST group of people on this earth? And, uh, the prettiest??
I’ll just get right to it: I need help! My wedding is in TWO MONTHS *gasp*!!! And I have two questions that I know weddingbee can solve. Pretty pretty please??
Question #1: Can I open my presents??
The other day, I got home from work, and THIS was sitting on my kitchen floor:
Adobe Photoshop has just introduced Photoshop Express, a free web-based version (nothing to download) of Photoshop that includes some of Photoshop’s most used features. They also offer 2 gb of free online photo storage so you can upload, organize, and share pictures, and even create slideshows.

Adobe Photoshop is a very powerful but expensive program, so this is an excellent alternative for photo editing software. Once I’ve played around with the program a bit, I’ll write a full review.
If you’ve given Photoshop Express a try, please let us know what you think about it! ![]()
Help me, hive. I want to attach typewriter keys to the clutch of my bouquet to match Mr. LB’s typewriter key cufflinks and, well, everything else in our wedding. But I can’t decide. Do I go classic and use “LOVE” (The theme of our wedding being The Sweetest Type of Love)? Or do I go clever, and use “2 B MRS”?
I stopped by one of my favorite stores in the world yesterday, Sephora, and I saw an ad for the Soolip Wedding event on March 30th in Los Angeles that Miss Cherry Blossom recently blogged about. It’s $45 per ticket, but they have special discount tickets available if you purchase online here using the voucher code: “sephora”.
If you stop by any Sephora store, they also give away a free copy of Los Angeles Weddings magazine!! (Usually worth $5.99, wuhoo!!)

Hello hive! It’s been a while.
I apologize for being MIA. Mr. Eggplant and I have been really busy trying to sort out our housing situation at the moment. We are no longer purchasing the SF condo that we had planned on buying.
There were some complications with the timing of the finished construction, our marriage date, and title issues. It’s a long and complicated story and I’ve been pretty bummed out about it lately. But I’m thankful that we still have a roof over our heads and two great jobs that provide more than we need for food on our table. Anyway, onto my post. ![]()
Mr. Eggplant and I were very blessed to have worked with some amazing vendors througout our wedding, including our photographers, Ray and Erwin of Apertura Photography. Both of them really went above and beyond in their service to us. We wanted to thank them with something extra special to show them how much we appreciated their friendship and professionalism.

Back when Weddingbee first launched and we were based only in New York, we posted all the local sample sales, trunk shows, and bridal shows. Once we went national a couple months later, we stopped posting them altogether. But with our new wiki, we’re going to bring local show and sale listings back!
We’ve started a Bridal Show Listings article here:
If you know of any upcoming bridal shows in your neck of the woods, please add it to the wiki! Once the article reaches a certain size, we’ll reorganize it into separate wiki by city. Hopefully this becomes the most up to date resource for local bridal show listings!
PS - Have a great weekend! ![]()
