About Mrs. Shortcake

What a fabulous idea!

I Love Me Some Colours: Repainting For Portraits : wedding vancouver 001 Pri

(Photograph by Mel Barlow )

Sasha and Abel had their wedding portraits taken in front of a wall in Sasha’s old bedroom that had been painted turqouise specifically for the wedding!

I know my mother would be game as she changes the wall colours along with the seasons - and I LOVE the freedom in choosing your backdrop colour (incorporating wedding scheme, anyone? :) )

What colour would you choose?

**Thanks to Faye and Greer for bringing this to my attention, and to Social Brides for bringing it to theirs!

This is probably one of my all-time favorite couple portraits - the colors are absolutely perfect, and the couple is adorable!

There is a red wall outdoors in the Meatpacking District in NYC that Kenny Pang uses a lot to shoot portraits of couples - a few can probably be found on his blog. Looks great!

Oh I love this! Lucky thing too, our wedding color is navy because we love it. Our wall color is navy because we love it. Fits great! No need for repainting. However, I would be infinately embarrassed to invite a high falootin photog into either of our little ol apartments. This might be a job for photography friend.

My bro’s wedding pics of the groomsman/family getting ready were in my bedroom - we had just painted the walls olive green (and my MOH dress was slightly lighter, and shimmery). My pics will probably be in my parents sitting room, which has blush pink walls with little pearlized swirls. It’s like pink heaven in there, and I love this idea.

for some reason a mago color popped into my mind, but slightly muted so as to not overpower us.

Thanks for featuring me! It’s so awesome to work with creative couples like Sasha and Abel. I hope other couples are inspired.

I love red walls. I feeeeel like they make people look hotter. Like… they’re… on… fire??

Well anyway, in my work id badge, I used to have a red background - and then last year they made us all retake our pictures with this really washed out light blue - I look jaundiced. Lovely. :)
