About Mrs. Petunia

If you’ve gone out of your way to purchase a card to accompany your groom’s gift, as I had done, ordering a letterpress one online, I recommend putting it on your remember to-pack-for-day-of list. I suppose there are more important things I could have left behind, like our rings, but forgetting the card at home meant I had to do a late-night CVS run on the eve of our wedding. It could have been worse. I got lucky and found one of those new musical ones that played “I Walk the Line,” and Mr. Petunia is a BIG Johny Cash fan:

As for the gifts, he just loved his Monopoly terrier cufflinks (he couldn’t for the life of him figure out what would be inside the Monopoly box):2666981

I also gave him the book I’d made on Blurb of my b-pics (not pictured here), but he was only able to sneak a quick peak because BIL Petunia was in the room with him, too. (I’ll just say once he did see it, he was quite pleased with it!)

Then his best woman came over to my room to hand me this:

Oh yeah, that is a 99 cent item box. Perhaps the box itself’s a gag? Oh no: that baby’s real:

“Um, I love it?” Then SIL Petunia arrived and Ta-Da!

Oh yeah, that’s right, shake your booty, I got me a fancy new watch and a fancy glass dolphin to boot. How low brow/high brow, just how I like it!

Hehehe, aren’t you afraid of whose hands might get on your pics if you sent them to blurb? Also, isn’t that a man’s watch?

=) The only thing I worried about with Blurb was whether I’d get the right book, since there was a mixup with another they’d sent me (not my pictures), but no I wasn’t worried about who was seeing them. I don’t post them here because I wouldn’t want my students to come across them, but actually, they don’t show any actual nudity anyway — they are just suggestive. No more so than girls in bikinis, really.

Oh, and no, that one in particular is not a man’s watch. In fact, you’ll see it’s much smaller than the one I’m already wearing in the pictures, which IS. I like a big watch either way.

You Petunias are SO adorable.

I think I have an SPECIAL soft spot for you all
b/c in addition to being just awesomely cute together, you are a professor (and you clearly love your students and that reminds me of my beloved mr beanchar) and as a couple you keep the wackiness alive and that’s something we beanchars value too!

(And I love a giant wrist-dwarfing man’s watch too!)

Our wonderful photographers took those shots!

@GetMarried4Less: LOL, I was thinking okay, the box itself is a gag and there’ll be something awesome inside it…wasn’t so sure after I opened it and saw the actual dolphin still…
