About Mrs. Shortcake

No one ever said that planning a vintage wedding would be easy.

This is especially true when planning a 1950s wedding; searching on the internet can be daunting, and downright depressing when forums continually suggest “poodle skirts” and “leather jackets” a la Grease as the only “vintage” option.

Because of this dearth of useful information, I have relied on a wide variety of sources:

Oh my gosh, thanks for posting this. I’m planning a 1930’s vintage wedding (it all started with my grandmother’s 1936 wedding dress). It’s difficult to search through all the websites that don’t have to do with buying a dress.
Thanks, thanks, thanks!

Awesome idea! One other fun site for vintage wedding dresses from various eras: http://www.thefrock.com. They actually have an entire section devoted to bridal dresses from the Victorian era through the 80s. Enjoy your browsing!

Had anyone bought a dress from Dolly Couture? I’m curious about their customer service and quality of their dresses.

I’ve started a Vintage Wedding Inspriation post on my blog. I’m slowly going through old wedding photos and taking a look at them…. Something fun for the vintage bride!
