Practice Makes Perfect

April 8th, 2008 @ 9:33 am by Mrs. Tiramisu

Hmm… what could be inside the (adorable pink) box?

Yes, more gocco. So sorry if you’re tired of it, because personally I can’t get enough of my new toy…

I want to make sure I’m a professional gocco’er by the time I actually put ink to invitation paper. Here’s my latest project: a shower gift of personalized stationery for my maid of honor Carolyn (she’s getting married on May 10th just like fellow Texan Jenna Bush).

Two sets of cards and envelopes with her new married name,

and one with the monogram used on her wedding invitations.

I don’t think she was too surprised to receive these (she keeps up with the bee), but she seemed to like them anyway! I’m jumping at every opportunity these days for homemade gifting… has all this wedding DIY brought out the craftiness in you too?

Super cute!! OMG… between planning my brother and sister in law’s 5 year anniversary party, my parent’s 30th, and the beginning stages of planning our wedding… I can’t get enough of DIY projects. I’ve seemed to turn every gift, card, around the house project, you name it… to a DIY project!! I LOVE my new found craftiness!!

Love the suitcase and the stationery–and making homemade gifts is so much fun (I am also a fan of making oragami boxes out of either a cool fashion ad or fun paper to put homemade jewelry items inside)!

Planning really has brought out the crafter in me, especially as of late as I’m working on the smaller details (BM gifts, programs, favors). In fact, I’m also using a suitcase for BM gifts, and I’m filling them with a wrap, a bracelet to wear on the big day…and then I get stuck. I want to stick with a travel theme, but I’m not sure what else to “pack” in their boxes…

Paper Souce has mini suitcaes similar to this one. I’m actually thinking of using the large one as our card box.

once you’ve burned the image into the mesh screen, can you use it indefinitely? Like use it this week, clean it, and then use it a month from now? I’ve noticed the same flower and I love the flower!

@Indigo: @Amy: The box is from paper-source! I also bought two more in the larger size for my flower girls.

@linda: Nice attention to detail linda :) Yes, the screen was re-used, and actually I just wrapped it in tin foil and stuck it in the fridge. You can also clean the ink off and store the screens that way, but if it’s not going to be too long in between uses I find it easier just to store them with the ink still on them.

I have such a wonderful best friend! I’m the lucky bride-to-be that received these beautiful cards. I absolutely love them! So personal and beautiful - its going to be a loss when I actually have to use them. Thanks Miss Tiramisu!

How cute!!! I wish I had at least one crafty finger never mind 10. I have been keeping my eye on Gocco machines on ebay, but can’t bring myself to take the plunge. What if I don’t make enough use of it? You ladies make everything on here look amazing!
