While vacationing in Hong Kong, Mr. CB and I decided on a whim to do the traditional HK/Taiwan style glamour shots. We were unprepared but pretty happy with the results. It’s definitely very traditional for weddings in Asia to have these types of photos taken, then displayed at the Chinese Banquet. We want to be as traditional as we possibly can in our 2nd day reception, so why take not these photos.
Yes you are definitely seeing us both in a much “softer, serene” look than we normally are:

Let me tell you, the service was impeccable. I have to highly recommend using the studio France Bridal if you plan a trip to Asia. What to expect and plan for:
1) Call and make your reservation ahead of time in the states since your time in Asia may be limited. (We got lucky and they squeezed us in.) Ask to decide on the package later. When we were there, we were so indecisive and they kept trying to push the sale and gave us a lot of extras.
2) Expect to have 4 appts:
3) Guys should bring their own black socks (white socks if you plan to wear white pants which cost extra) and your own black dress shoes.
4) Girls should bring their own corset (they like to call it) or bustier and undergarments, fake lashes, make up applicator (them cotton triangle shaped ones), and dress shoes if you want. Because I was in oversized gowns all day, I wore my tennies. Also, they recommend wearing white shorts underneath the gown. I wish I had because there were some shots where my underweared arse was sitting on bare grass/dirt.
5) I also brought my own bouquet/boutonnierre and loose silk flowers for my hair (but didn’t realized I had paid for real ones for my hair which they used). You can buy any and all of the above at the same mall Miss Toucan visited here for much cheaper than the bouquet/boutonnierre package they offer. I rented my silk versions at the same mall.
6) They have a couple sales locations (the one we visited was in Tsim Tsai Tsui), and their actual photo studios are in Kowloon. They have multiple scenery sets in their two studios in Kowloon, where you’ll also get dressed up, dolled up, pick your photos, and have the option of shooting outdoors on a yacht or at the beach!
7) When you’re doing changes to your hair, makeup, jewelry (which you can borrow there or wear your own), or wardrobe, the hair and makeup people work super fast and are extremely polite. I LOVED the VIP treatment!
You have to wait 3 months for the photos to be ready… prepare for a hefty shipping price if your package includes a large 20×24 photo, medium album, small album, some 8×10, 5×7, and 4×6 photos, and a CD of the 29 touched up photos included in our package.
Lucky for us, we have family there so they picked it up for us and uploaded the photos for us to see pronto and share with our moms. Now they are going to ship the 20×24 to us for much cheaper, and hopefully it’ll get here by the time our 2nd banquet rolls around. They’ll be bringing the other albums and framed photos in their luggage.
Without further ado, some more samples of other photos …

This last one here is Mr. CB’s favorite of me. I dunno why?! But as long as he likees, me likees too.
Hope you enjoyed!
i LOVE the one where your eyes are closed…so pretty!
