Aria Bridesmaids

April 9th, 2008 @ 1:13 pm by Miss Tiramisu

This coming September I’ll be one of seven lucky girls standing up next to my best friend from high school, Kate, as she ties the knot in Maine. While I chose to go traditional and dress all my bridesmaids the same, Kate is going to mix it up. She chose a fabric and color from Aria Bridesmaids, and we each got to choose the style that we liked best. This is such a great option, and one that I wish I had considered more.

Aria has locations in Boston, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC. If you live near one of their boutiques, you can make an appointment to stop in and try on dresses. If not, they offer a “try-on” program where they’ll send you a few dresses to check out for a $15 credit card deposit per dress. Four of Kate’s bridesmaids headed to the Boston store, 2 out in Ohio used the try-on program, and the lonesome Miss Tiramisu headed to the Washington, DC store this past Sunday.

While in Boston, Kate and the girls had decided on terracotta silk shantung:
Here’s a real bridal party rockin’ the terracotta:
This color is going to go so well with her “summer sunset” color scheme- think sunflower yellow, burnt orange, terracotta and a few touches of brighter pinks.

Here are a few of the styles I tried on:

#104

#170

And the winner…

#107

Pretty cute right? There will be one other bridesmaid in the same style, with the other five girls choosing 3 different styles. So far we’ve had a great experience with this company (although if you’re visiting the DC location make sure to leave extra time to search for parking!). Kate is placing the order for us today, so I’ll let you know how they look when they arrive! Anyone else going with differently styled bridesmaids? How about different colors?

That terracotta color is just gorgeous!

My Bridal Party is doing Aria too! And I have to say I adore them! It was pretty easy for us since I live in DC and accompanied most of the girls to their appointments, but 2 girls did try on options at home and had a lot of success. The dresses are well-made, stylish and come in a variety of shapes and sizes - good, since I have bridesmaids ranging from 10 - 40!

I would HIGHLY recommend - and if you’re in the DC location, you’ll ADORE Karen. She’s wonderful and warm and extremely helpful!

I was thinking about having my BM wear each of my wedding colors (navy, kelly green, pink, and yellow).
My other option is having the girls all wear the same print dress

I’m having them in different colors–they’re very similar to your friends summer sunset color scheme. In fact, the terracotta and the orange underneath it are very close to my colors. One will be in your terracotta (alfred angelo’s persimmon), the other in tangelo (orange), and the third in sunshine (yellow). The sash on their dress will be in a pistachio green.

I’m being boring. I told all my girls to just get a black dress, since they’re all over the country. :)

i really love her palette!

i’ve chosen to go the way of mix and match seperates. my girls will be in the same color floor length A-line skirts and they get to choose their top.

they may possibly wear the same accesories to unify the group but i’ve decided that their are on their own for footwear. since you wont be able to see their shoes anyway, i figured its one less thing for me to worry about.

yay aria!
my girls will be wearing aria dresses in their choice of style. the maids will be wearing aubergine, MOH will be wearing sand.

i went to their DC showroom with my sister (MOH) and boston with some of the girls. both were super nice, and everyone was very helpful.

they were a little pricier than i would have liked but i love all the styles and they had the aubergine color i was searching for. haven’t gotten the dresses yet but so far my experience has been great!

we almost used aria, but none of my girls lived in proxmity to their stores and the try-on program seemed too stressful at the time for women in 3 different, non-Aria cities. So we went with Simple Silhouettes (www.simpledress.com). Each are wearing a different style in the same color. Love this look! Allows each girl’s personality to shine through a bit.

We’re using Aria. Karen, who manages the DC store, is great to work with. All 5 of my bridesmaids will be wearing different dresses, but I chose the fabric, the length, and the a-line skirt. Then they were free from there to pick the ones they liked, strapless or not, whatever. Since the colors I chose (midnight with a celery sash) are a little bridesmaidy, I’ve ordered an extra sash in midnight for each of the girls, hoping they’ll be able to wear the dress again. These dresses were probably $50-100 cheaper than other designers using similar fabrics, but they seem to be just as well-made. We were really pleased with the experience, and are now waiting for our order to arrive!

I loved using Aria! the only thing that stunk was they upped the price of the dresses right before we went to order them! by $45!!!!

Each of my bridesmaids chose the style they liked the best and they all looked fabulous! It was easy too since they all live across the country. Aria is A+!

i’m toying with the idea of using the same dress in two or three different colors. i figure with six bridesmaids, i can still make it pretty even and colorful at the same time. i don’t want to risk looking like a rainbow, but i really like the idea of mixing it up.

@Luna: The style I chose is shown in leaf silk shantung. Hope that helps!

My girls are wearing Aria! I think they have the most super cute dresses, and they were the only company that had the shade of green I loved (the Leaf silk shantung, like dress #3 in the post). I had them pick out their own tea-length style, and two of them picked the same dress you did, Miss T, the dress in the picture.

Also, their customer service is great! Every time I’ve called, or one of my ladies has called, they’ve been nothing but super nice and very informative. I love Aria!

Cool! My MOH and bridesmaids’ dresses were also ordered from Aria Dress…I can’t wait to see them when they get shipped to me in May! I let the girls each choose their own style (as they each have different body types), and I consulted with them with my colour choices. In the end, I went with blush pink for the main colour, accented with a fuschia coloured hem. =)))

mlindsey says:

I loved Aria. The colors and fabric were beautiful, and the double hem option is so cool, but unfortunately all of my bridesmaids couldn’t fit their dresses because they ran small, plus the fees for the plus size and alterations were going to be too much, so we literally left there, tried to figure out what I was going to do and ended up at David’s Bridal. It forced me to change my colors (the color I selected was only at Aria), but the girls looked great. Everyone loved the idea that they all had their own dresses and styles. A different dress to fit each girl is definately the way to go!

H.L. says:

I’m probably going to have four bridesmaids, and I’d like them in four complimentary shades of blue, different fabrics, in whatever style suits each girl. We’ll see if it works out that way, though.

hwong14 says:

I’m picking the designer and the color and the girls are picking the dresses. The color is a dark purple, like eggplant or aubergine, and right now we’re deciding on the designer. I’m also going to pick a green color and as long as at least two of the seven (!) girls want to wear green, they can. So we’ll have a mix of styles and shapes, and possibly colors! I think it will look great and they’re all going to be happy.

Dianna says:

Like EastportBride, I’m having my girls wear midnight color dresses with a green sash & letting them choose whatever style they like best as long as they are knee length. I’m very excited to see it all come together!

I am thinking of Aria. I love working with Karen in the DC store and want everyone in different styles. I’m thinking the Dark Red Silk, but when I see pictures of it it seems really shiny. Has anyone else noticed this?

swp02138 says:

We ordered the Aria Dark Red Silk and are a little concerned that the dresses will appear shiny in the pictures too. I’ve noticed it in some pictures but not others. I’m hoping our photographer will be able to work around it.
