About Mrs. Toucan

***Sorry, Mr. Toucan, not this one either!***

Part I: The Realization
Part II: Dress Shopping at T-2 Months

Even though I felt really good about the new dress I picked, I decided to take advantage of the 5 days I could put the dress on hold before deciding to definitely get the dress. Since I changed my mind about my dress the first time, I wanted to be absolutely sure before I purchased another dress. Then when I got home, I started feeling really guilty over the prospect of buying a new dress. I started having second (and third and fourth) thoughts. What if I changed my mind again? Am I better off with just wearing the original dress?

I decided that to be sure, I had to go and visit the new dress again. This time, I went to VOWS with a larger entourage - my 2 sisters and a friend. I needed all the opinions I could get. When we walked into the store, I last-minute decided that it was a good opportunity to browse through the racks another time. Maybe I missed something? But, was adding MORE dresses into the mix a good idea? Hmmm…. you decide. ;)

Dress 1 - Monique Lhuillier:

I thought this dress was absolutely fabulous. I loved the silhouette of the dress, and the look and feel of it. And even more, I loved the “embossed” look the fabric had. The thing I didn’t like about the dress - the chest area, or as my dress consultant of the day called it “the Madonna boobs.” Yeah, it didn’t really work for me. It kind of accentuated the fact that I have no boobs.

Dress 2 - Carolina Herrera:

I really wanted to try this dress on because it looks so fun and different, but as you can see by the lovely face I’m making in this picture, I was less than thrilled with how it looked on me.Dress 3 - Jim Hjelm:

This dress fit me almost perfectly… only needed a tiny pinch at the hips. It felt really fun… but yet there was something about it that felt really 80s to me. My sister quickly informed me that it wasn’t the dress, it was the side-pony! :)

Dress 4: I forgot the designer of this dress :(

Again, beautiful dress, great cut… but pretty much every dress I tried on that day, in my mind, paled in comparison to the dress I had put on hold just a couple days earlier… and, that’s a good thing. None of these dresses gave me the same feeling that my new dress did…

And you’ll see the new dress… next time (promise!). :)
(Hopefully you won’t hate me for not showing you yet, but I did show you 4 dresses today!)

Stay tuned for the finale, Part IV - The Reveal!
