About Mrs. Cherry Blossom

I’m not quite stubborn but I have serious issues with asking for help. Seriously, I soOOOOo did not want to ask for help and it took a lot for me to email my girlfriends desperately asking for help even though, they have on countless, countless occasions offered their help! I am crazy I know. I just feel so bad troubling them because they are helping us so much already being a part of our wedding and have done so much to spoil me already as is! BUT THANK YOU LOVES, I would not and could not have succeeded with a sane mind without you!

I called for help last week and set up a day to meet up with my girls. Despite their crazy work schedules, they all showed up and in one night, my hell was relieved. Etching Bonanza Sweatshop in mad process …

Everyone diligently working. They worked that shiet mad fast yo!

TIP: As you finish each votive, go back and flip/rotate the ones that have been done so that you don’t risk the chance of cream running down your glass and having etched streaks that cannot be fixed. It’s a tedious process when you’re on #10 and have to go back reflip 1 - 9 but it’s worth it.

If you ever decide to take on the craziness of etching, ask for HELP. My gfs were saying to me “about time” I asked for help! But here’s a few tips …

To save a bit of water vs running each one underneath the sink individually like I did in my example, try getting empty buckets and filling them up with water. I used warm/hot water because the stickers popped off quicker. Just dunk as many as you can get in the bucket and let it sit, and slowly you’ll see them come floating up.

Protect your hands, wear gloves when you’re working on cleaning off the excess in the bucket. Reach in and start rubbing off the excess cream and stickers that might still be stuck on the votives. I reused the water as much as I could stand - it became a sea of white after about the 3rd time, but it helped remove the cream and kept the leftover scraps in one spot. You can reuse the water as much as you feel comfortable with, just remember to strain the water to catch all your loose scraps to dump in the garbage.

We stacked up all the “dirty” ones in the sink on one side so that we could scrub em clean … since we’re filling them with candy, we wanted to make sure the not-so-good for you cream wouldn’t getting on our candies. Be careful when you stack em so that you don’t risk the chance of breaking them as they come tumbling down.

I soaped em up into the other sink to the right (up top) then Mr. CB went and rinsed them and restacked them back upside down so that they could dry off. Tonight, we fill em up!

Fill em up … with these scrumdelicious chocolate pudding jelly beans and sour strawberry jelly beans that I bought from I Love Sweet Treats for $55.40/10 lb box, no tax, and FREE SHIPPING! They were awesome to work with and came in the time they quoted me.

Just some ribbon, a tag, to go with this … and presto, we be clubbing!

@Katie: I ordered 1 box each, so a 10 lb box of each color. I hope I have enough to fill my 150 votives I had planned for. FINGERS crossed!

@Quyen: I bought them from http://www.cudge.net! Good luck! Thanks for the love!
