Ding Dong The Invite’s Done!

April 10th, 2008 @ 12:02 pm by Mrs. Hummingbird

After weeks and weeks and paper and paper, Mr. Hummingbird and I finished our DIY invites. Take a look!

All of the pieces as a whole. As you may see in the background, we have the Hummingbird Wii remotes and a big bottle of aspirin, both of which were important ingrediants in the invitation making process.

The final version of our invite. The tree on the invite is actually a picture of tree that Mr. Hummingbird and I took during a photographic expedition to High Park in Toronto.

Our reply card. We put a light blue tree watermark on the card and personalized the R.S.V.P. cards as much as possible in the hopes of discouraging write ins (did Miss Daffodil’s post scare anyone else?). Also, since we wanted to do something a little fun with our response cards, we added a couple of silly questions that our guests can answer for fun and that we can put into our photo albums after the wedding.

Anyway, now that I’m done I feel like it’s time to dance Carlton style*! Break it down with me ladies and dance the happy dance of DIY completion!

*I sadly dance like this

I’d be too afraid to put the “least favorite thing about bride & groom” on mine because I have some family members that would be too honest for my liking :P

I LOVE them guys! It was worth all the pain and suffering. Can’t wait to get mine!

I am so obsessed with your invites. How angry are you going to be if I steal them? Not just the ideas, steal the actual invites from your house and put my own name on them.

How did you print them? The tree is so gorgeous!

hi miss hummingbird,

i have a question - what colour are your envelopes?
i had black envelopes and were told by the post office, that you can’t mail black envelopes.

did you hear something different?

Miss Hummingbird says:

@jnicholea: Sorry hun, they went into the mail on Wednesday, so unless you can catch one in transit, I have no more. :P@lette: It is misleading in the picture because it’s weirdly lit, but our envelopes are actually chocolate brown which, when we dropped them off at the post office, seemed to be okay with them. Also, we did all of our addresses on a cream coloured label so that they would show up properly for the postman.

I’m making invitations too! And we are doing a tree theme. Mine will be in tones of brown, but I really love the blue…*re-thinking color scheme*
