My Name Doesn’t Start With “M”

April 11th, 2008 @ 3:55 pm by Mrs. Penguin

Several of my friends have asked me what the “M” on our RSVP cards stand for.   Most people know it’s there so you can fill in your title as Miss/Ms/Mr like this…

z140601

Not so you can fill it in like this…

z14060101

FYI: The dress code for the Penguin wedding is cocktail attire. Tittie tassles optional.

Happy Friday!

Ha! I can only hope we’ll get a few entertaining responses too! Mr. Tiramisu was so confused by the whole “M” thing that we went with “Name(s)”

I have to admit, that when I received my first wedding invitation that had that big “M” on it I was confused as hell. Even though I want to have relatively formal invitations/RSVPs/etc, I think I’m going to forgo that M. All of the women are going to get the title “Ms” on their invitations, anyways, and men don’t have as many options, so it’s one of the (many!) etiquette things I’m going to drop!

hahah too funny. My brother’s name is mike so he always signs his name as “ike” after the M

I now fear that anyone who is attending my wedding is going to read this as a challenge to send in their response cards with something even sillier/grosser/awesomer.

Bring it.

Ha, that’s awesome! I didn’t go to many weddings growing up, so count me among those baffled by the M. My FI had to explain it to me, so we skipped it on our own invites. But now I kind of would have loved to see the responses we’d get!

Ha, I wish you had posted this like four days earlier! I just sent in an RSVP ignoring the M. I figured it probably meant for the title, but then was like “well who do I put first? We’re both on the invitation!” Ah well.

@Miss Penguin: I’d totally frame the best ones and display them at the reception, provided they weren’t too naughty. ;-)

Ohmygosh, elizabeth’s idea is golden. You totally have to do that. And you could have little pictures of the guests who sent them and do a ‘match the person with the rsvp’ game.
