The Toucans’ Nest!

April 11th, 2008 @ 3:32 pm by Mrs. Toucan

Yesterday was a big day for the Toucans - we officially became homeowners!

Mr. Toucan is carrying - it’s the first thing we brought in!

Mr. Toucan excitedly opening the door to our unit!

We’ve been shopping around for a place since we’ve been engaged (over a year!). Finally after a long search, we’ll have a place to call home! We plan to gradually move our stuff in over the next couple months, so everything will be set and ready for us after the wedding. Mr. Toucan and I have been together for a long time, so it’s nice that we’ll start off our marriage in a new home.

What are your living arrangements for after the wedding? Will they be the same or different from how they are now?

My fiance and I closed on our new home in November, so that is where we will be after the wedding. We are still so excited to come home everyday

Congratulations!
My fiance and I have lived together for 2.5 years, and bought our first apartment together 1.5 years ago. So nothing’s changing living-arrangement wise!

You will love home ownership - congrats to you and your fiance!

Congrats!

Immediately following the wedding won’t see our living situation change, as the FI will be winding down his grad student studies, and will be looking for jobs. So for the moment, we’re happy renters–we don’t want to buy until we’re pretty sure we’ll be settled there for a few years at least.

my fiance and i closed on a condo 3 months before the wedding. that was probably the biggest mistake ever, since packing / moving / unpacking / furnishing the place WHILE planning the wedding is NOT FUN!

fyi we moved in 3 weeks ago and still haven’t unpacked completely. the wedding is in 4 weeks. fun fun!

i’ll have a big change as i’ll be moving the 800+ miles to move into FH’s apartment. he’ll have a woman and her whole life’s worth of stuff to contend with. ;)

We closed on our house Feb 20th, and our wedding was March 9th!!! It has absolute HELL for a few weeks there, but now we are so happy to be in our new house.

FYI… DON”T buy a house two weeks before your wedding!!!

Congrats!

We might be house shopping this summer, right before the wedding. Hurray for life changes!

We’ve been living together for years and we’ll stay in our apartment in Seattle if Mr. Cherry Pie decides to pursue his nursing career here. Otherwise, we will move to Oregon and buy a house down there where the prices are more reasonable.

It’s funny that you just posted this. My FH moved in to my teeny tiny house back in September. With the wedding looming, this August, the thought of bringing anything more into this house kills me! So we have addresses in hand and tomorrow we are going “us” househunting! I’m so excited…bad timing but I think it would be much more fun registering with a new, bigger place in mind! Again, congrats!
