I’m an inspiration board junkie and if I could, I would make them all the time. Unfortunately free time isn’t my friend at the moment, but luckily thanks to Junebug Weddings and Absolutely Beautiful Things, I found the solution to my problem.
Polyvore is a web-based application that allows you to take images from online stores and drag and drop them into a collage. It’s now my new friend. Can you imagine the possibilities?

You can also add your favorite online stores using their bookmarklet, or simply add items from their already existing library. As simple as 1,2,3 and you have a mood board that can be shared with the world. To top things off, (something I find very interesting) every product within the board is linked back to the online store where it is available for purchase. ![]()

I spent hours on this site and kept removing and adding things. It’s so much fun! What I love is that everybody has a different vision of things so you could play a little game with your friends using Polyvore. Give them a theme and color combination and see what each person comes up with.
Polyvore even has its own blog which I immediately added to my Google Reader. This website is now my new online stylist/theme finder/personal shopper/best friend.
Have you used this program? How do you go about making your inspiration boards?
oh-em-gee, I think you just cut my work productivity in half! (unless I can find a way to make this help with work, too?)
I love inspiration boards, but I’ve started to realize that its easy to make them more about the photography or the setting–instead of an actual product or design…. this should help me make it a bit more focused… (& generally nifty)
