Operation Snowcone

April 16th, 2008 @ 1:39 pm by Mrs. Daffodil

I always love a good proposal story, and just had to share this one with the hive! What a wedding-filled year it will be for the Daffodil extended family…Mr. D’s cousin recently proposed to his girlfriend on a mountaintop - "Operation Snowcone" they called it - and what an operation it was! Check out their engagement video below…Definitely made me tear up!

PS - In case you are wondering, don’t worry, that is Kool-Aid in the snow, not spray paint!
PPS - Gentlemen, you should definitely videotape your proposals, as that moment is truly priceless!

Congratulations Austin and Jean!!! smiley1098

I’m not usually a fan of proposals that have an audience - not cause they aren’t sweet - but I just wouldn’t have wanted it that way…. but…..

I love the fact that this proposal took the orchestration of all their friends - that they captured it all on video - etc etc - it was very touching!! Great video too!

PLUS - BONUS - they got to celebrate the day by snowboarding :)

I love that she was so bundled up you couldn’t even see her face, but her body language was so clear! Ack, so cute!

I made my FI promise to not propose with an audience, but this is a perfect exception. Now I definitely wish that we had a mini-documentary of our proposal. After he proposed, he told me all the background stuff he went through and I would love to have it on film!

Yes, video taping the proposal is a great idea. Whenever I’m feeling down or wedding planning is stressing me out…I play mine and it’s an instant pick-me-up.

Oh gawsh! I don’t even know those people, I hate skiing and here I am crying in my office. Could I be any more of a sap? That was supremely romantic! What a neat guy!

L says:

I totally agree with jilian. I’d hate to be proposed in front of an audience, just because it’s an intimate moment that I’d like to share with just my guy, but I thought it was SUPER cute that their friends were all cheering when she said yes. Too cute!!

And I am seriously grinning like an idiot here too. :-D
