To Have And To Hold…

April 18th, 2008 @ 1:33 pm by Ms. Dahlia

my lipgloss, cell phone and other important necessities for the wedding day.

I had, for the longest time, been lusting over a red clutch bag to use on our wedding day. Not just any red bag, no, this one only existed in my head. Sleek red gathered silk, it was absolutely gorgeous.

And then I saw it. Not just any bag, but the bag.

No, I did not decide to trade in silk for snakeskin, as the above bag is the closest picture of my bag online that I could find. The design and style is identical, the only difference is the fabric is a deep crimson silk.

Receiving the bag itself was quite an endeavor; I saw it on clearance at my local Macy’s, and had them hold it for me overnight. As luck would have it, I didn’t have a chance to get back there to pick it up. Unbeknownst to me at the time, my mom went back to the store to get it. But they didn’t have it. Mr. Dahlia and my mom spent the next 2 months or so trying to track down this bag, and Mr. Dahlia managed to do it, just in time to give it to me as a Christmas present.

What are you using to hold your small necessities on your wedding day?

I must say that this is a beautiful bag. The perfect size for all the necessities.

Eeek! My wedding is next weekend; I need a clutch of some kind; I haven’t seen anything I love online, and I just want it done! But enough about me…love your bag, and the effort behind it! :)

I’m sorry if this is a stupid question, but why would you need your cell phone at your wedding? Wouldn’t all the people who usually call you be there with you??

I am trying to bid on a cheap (but pretty) bag on ebay. I really don’t want to have to spend anymore $, even if it is only $20-$30. I will barely use it.
I read on the wedding bee wiki that one of the MOH responsiblities could be to hold small items that the bride needs in her purse. So since I only need a makeup sponge, lipstick, powder, and some hair pins, that is my back up plan.
Oh, and a small pack of tissues!

My sister forgot to get the bag. So she ended up stashing everthing in a small back beat-up purse with a big silver buckle.
When the wedding planner saw it she started moaning and saying, “You simply can not put you things in THAT” ( well the wedding planner fiasco is another story itself)

It was no big deal. The bag sat in the bride room all night. She stuck her lipstick in her new hubby’s pocket and all was good.

But that red bag is great. I plan on having something fab, in green. But handbags are one of my weaknesses.

I had once custom-made by a seller on etsy. I saw one that was really darling, and then contacted the seller about getting one made with different fabrics that would match my wedding colors. I just got it the other day, and I looove it, it’s adorable and I love that I got to be involved with picking out the fabrics and design elements.

My best lady will be carrying a larger bag than usual to allow her to carry anything I might need so my hands can be free. That is one cute bag, though!

My Mom asked me today if I had purchased a purse… need to find one relatively soon (6 weeks left). The rich color of your purse is sure to be stellar!
