About Miss Shortcake

Heads up, Miss Flamingo (and anyone else making crystal trees)!

I just found some great tutorials on how to DIY, check it out here and here!

Crystal trees look smashing as centerpieces, as wish trees, or as accents on food stations. We’re not making full trees, but crystal strands mixed in with floral arrangements can look mighty fancy as well!

Have you found any stellar sources of crystals? Do share!

I have purchased some from here and I got them fast. I plan on getting more from them to supplement all my other decorations.

I absouletly love this idea… but my centerpieces changed - which reminds me that I have to blog about it… I searched ebay for acrylic crystals… even consider plastic curtains.

A second vote for http://www.cristalier.com. Antique crystals sounds like a good idea but when you realize many have lead content and will be around your guests and potentially food, it’s safer to go with the new (just as sparkly) plastic ones. Also they weight less which makes the construction a lot easier.

I found http://www.etheraldecor.com was the most affordable place to purchase crystals. I was very satisfied when I received mine, plus they have instructions on their website for a lot of different projects if you’re interested.

EtherealDecor has some great crystal centerpiece ideas, real centerpiece trees (very glam and professionally done) and some lovely artificial manzanita branches. The crystals are the best I’ve seen anywhere Swarovski (best sparkle) and great prices. Customer service is excellent too.
