Trying to plan a wedding in a new city, not to mention a new country, is tough, but the fact that we can get legally married here more than makes up for it! The wedding will be an opportunity for most of our family and friends to see our new city for the first time so it will be both a wedding and a reunion. Besides my future wife, I am also madly in love with a good bargain, Swedish pastries, Tivo, and my two dogs and calico cat (in no particular order).

And Now For The Feet

April 22nd, 2008 @ 2:20 pm by Miss Gingerbread

When I saw these shoes I almost wished that I’d started shopping for shoes before shopping for the dress. I am so infatuated with these Fluevog shoes that do not go with my dress at all!

They also come in all white, but it’s the contrasting detail that attracted me to these shoes in the first place. Oh and my dress is cream. What to do?!

Not being a fan of the all white (or cream) shoe, I briefly considered going for green shoes that would match the green sash on my dress. However, without the dress in my possession, I thought it would be pretty hard to match the colour. Even if I had the dress, it’s not like I wanted to take it shoe shopping.

Then in some frantic shoe searching frenzy, I found these babies by Naughty Monkey. It just might have been the name of the brand that sold me.

I love the little bit of green detail that’s tiny enough to not have to match exactly. Plus these shoes match the colours of our wedding invitations!

My mom and my aunt discussed my shoes and decided that they are “very pretty, but too sporty.” I think that translates into “weird,” but I like weird so it works out fine :)

Here’s my best attempt at sharing the shoes with the dress without revealing too much. Of course, the shoes will generally be hidden by the dress, but I wanted to give you the general idea.

Is anyone wearing Fluevogs on their wedding day so that I can live vicariously?

They’re sexy Miss Gingerbread! Will v2.0 also have a white wedding dress too?

oooo…these are cute!

man…i really can’t wait to see you in this dress!

i dont know what i am doing for footwear. i thought i was going to go with a 2″ or under kitten heel since my FI is barely an inch taller than me. But in the past 24 hours, 2 people have suggested ballerina shoes. and being the indecisive person i am….now, i am wondering if i should go with ballerina shoes.

:/

I love Naughty Monkey shoes! Their shoes have such cute details! I think they’re a great choice although a bit unconventional.

If v2.0 decides to not wear a dress and perhaps wears a white/black pant suit instead, I’d imagine that those fancy Fluevog shoes would be perfect for her!

Ms. GB, why not get them for your rehearsal dinner? Then you can wear either a black or white dress to that!

Miss GB - I have a personal question for you, which may tie really well in to my college course discussion right now, as I am standing on the side of “FOR” Gay Marriage. If you have some time I would like to get some opinions from you and GB 2.0 if you don’t mind. I’ve been blog stalking for a while and I feel like you may be a willing soul to help. If so email me at stacymangels@aol.com much thanks!!

I’m wearing Fleuvogs! Here’s a link: http://popgloss.com/white/d9a8eec306986a2c722c1a31a3106df5
They look kind of crazy on their own, but they work really well with my dress. I’m planning to swap them out for flats at the reception.
I like the naughty monkeys!
