About Mrs. Penguin

Familiar?

I play slots despite their gross display of racism. “Chink! chink! chink! chink! chink! chink!” The machines mock all day long while I play. Oddly, the more racism they spew, the more I am drawn to them.

My 10 closest gals and I are headed to Vegas this weekend! Picking a bachelorette party spot was quite the drawn out experience. I wanted to go somewhere easily accessible by everyone, and the majority of my girlfriends are still down in LA. We originally wanted to do Scottsdale, AZ, as my FIL’s have a vacation house there that we could possibly have stayed at. The logistics would have been a little harder…we would have needed to rent cars and designate sober drivers, but the thought of a private pool and a more “low key” weekend sounded great. I resisted Vegas for a while, but in the end, it really is just the easiest place to go for instant entertainment around every corner!

We’ll be staying at the Monte Carlo, which is a great “mid level” hotel. I’ve stayed there before and love their pool. Rooms there on average run about $200-$230 a night for a Friday-Saturday night stay, which is pretty decent split between four girls per room. One thing that bummed us out is that we really wanted to rent a Cabana at the pool, and apparently they don’t just rent them out, at any cost (come on, I’m willing to pay!). They reserve them for their “high rollers” and if the “high rollers” don’t use them, then they throw the scraps to us common folk who only play Wheel of Fortune slots and get very excited when we win $30 (See picture above). But if you’re lucky enough that the high rollers dont want to sit by the pool, you can rent a cabana for $200 a day, easily split by your 10 closest friends. Cabanas have flat screen TVs and a personal attendant to bring you all the food, towels and drinks you could possibly want. Sounds Bachelorette-riffic doesnt it?

We chose Mexican over fine dining, and will be filtering all our money instead into lots of beverages. My girlfriend asked if I had any requests and I only made one:

If you dont know, now you know. And because what better way to ease into my new German last name than with a nice, 100 proof blitzkreig to the dome?Vegas, baby. Vegas.

Who’s done Vegas for their Bachelorette?

Have a swell time. Also remember the following equation:

Rumpleminze Survival=Carbo Load+52 Liters-H20xMay the Force Be With You (to the 9th Power)

AHAHA. I love you.

Oh Rumpleminze… it’s best straight from the freezer tossed back in one cold shot. Or two. Or three. Oh, my head can feel it already.

Let’s party!

Please tell me you’re joking and do not really think that slot machines make that noise because the manufacturers are racist. This world is getting out of hand. Jeeze.

ok, I´m german and I never heard about “Rumpleminze” before! I definitely have to get my hands on that, but I bet it´s easier finding it abroad than in Germany.

Have tons of fun!
