A Present For Myself

April 28th, 2008 @ 2:33 pm by Mrs. Cherry Pie

Recently, Mr. Cherry Pie and I swung by Tiffany & Co while running errands in Downtown Seattle. I had a necklace I wanted cleaned and a bracelet I’d received that I wanted to exchange for something more “me.”

Mr. Cherry Pie spotted this beautiful bracelet, which he thought complemented my ring in a way that jewelry rarely does:

(Ugh, my knuckles look awful. I’m 5’ 10″ but I have freakishly small hands!)

The bracelet wasn’t exactly an even trade pricewise, but I had some money on a gift card left over from last Christmas that made the purchase affordable enough. And it’s sooooo pretty!

I don’t know yet if this is a piece of jewelry that I will wear to the wedding, but it’s definitely something that I will wear regularly, even with jeans.

Have you purchased any jewelry specifically to coordinate with your wedding or engagement bands?

Nice! I haven’t bought jewelry to coordinate with my E-ring, but a lot of our wedding was inspired by my E-ring, which is arts and crafts style. Our venue is sort of arts & crafts (California craftsman), and our invitations and flowers were also inspired by that style. I wanted to everything to have an understated, old-fashioned feel. By the way, I love your ring- it’s so unique!

My Fi gave me some earings with blue topaz in them to match my e-ring (It’s primary stone is a blue topaz) for Valentine’s Day. It was so sweet and he tried really hard. I didn’t have the heart to tell him that the my ring (he picked it) is white gild and the earings are yellow gold (which I never wear). I will probably get the earings rodiumed when I have my ring done before the wedding.

@Ms. Uptown Girl: Alas, I’m not sure yet! We’re working on having something made by the jeweler who designed it… check out this post to see our ideas so far:

yes - I have a pave band, so my new hubby is so cute and loves to get me matching pave things - hoops earrings, necklace, etc.

I love your bracelet! How wonderful that is matches your ring so perfectly :)
FH got me a bracelet from Tiffany for my birthday a few years ago and I never take it off, it’s going to be hard finding different jewlery for the BIG DAY… I may just wear the bracelet he bought me then.

My coordinating jewelry actually came first. The first jewelry items by now fiance ever gave me was a pair of sapphire earrings… which now match my ring perfectly. I think I might find a pendant or a bracelet to go along with the set. And I would wear that awesome bracelet on the day of if I were you.
