Make-in-up Is Hard To Do

April 28th, 2008 @ 6:33 pm by Miss Shortcake

It may come as a shock, so you might want to sit down in preparation.

Miss Shortcake? The one with the pink wedding and huge sparkly dress?

Yeah, she’s a GIRLY-GIRL.

I KNOW. SHOCKING. :)

Despite my frou-frou-prissy-pants nature (least favorite child hood taunt? “I’m going to put [insert gross and messy something] on your dree-essss!”), my younger sister has me beat when it comes to overwhelming knowledge of makeup and hair.

I put on makeup, I do my hair, but Youngest Sister Shortcake?

She not only does both really well, but does it all the time, everyday, without fail. That takes talent, and a dedication that I do not have. And she’s pretty cool:

YSS is second from the left. How gorgeous does she look??

Because I am several gazillion miles away from my home, I have relied on YSS to scout out hair and makeup “people” for the wedding. When she wholeheartedly recommended Felicia Bromba for my makeup, I knew I could trust my sister, and in turn, trust her:

I have been told that she doesn’t look like this everyday (hehe), and is fantabulous at face-work.

I can’t wait for my make-up trial now! :D

How did you find your make-up artist?

your situtation sounds like mine, though the worst taunt you could have told me was that you were going to make me wear a dress. as a tomboy growing up the last thing i cared about was hair and makeup though that’s still true now. but my younger sister? she messes around with her hair and make up when she’s bored. me? i take a nap. not at all conducive to knowing what to do when you want to fancy things up a bit and a pony tail just won’t do. so she’s become my go to make up artist/hair stylist. i’ve already asked her to make me pretty when it comes time for my wedding so at least i got one thing down.

I love the hair she did in the last picture ;p
I’m assuming she also did the make up?

She looks great. Model no. 3 (Sonia) really looks like you, so I think you should go for a look in between that and the more vintage look in pic. 4. In my humble opinion :)
