Showered!

April 28th, 2008 @ 3:01 pm by Mrs. Toucan

On Saturday, Mr. Toucan’s and my sisters threw us a shower! Though neither have ever even attended a shower, I couldn’t have asked for a better afternoon!

The shower was held at our new place, which ended up being great for a few reasons. First, it was like an open house, and we could show our friends and family the new place!

Secondly, it was completely empty, which meant that we had room for long tables and chairs anywhere!

The food spread (yummm-o!) on one end of the room…

and chairs…

all around!

And lastly, it provided a very relaxed atmosphere. Being a little attention shy, I was glad to have Mr. Toucan there with me… it made it especially more comfortable for me when we played our little version of the Newlywed Game:

We did really well for the most part… but there were a few answers/questions that got a lot of laughs:

After our little game, it was on to the gifts!

It really was a fabulous day, and I’m still marveling over how generous our friends and family are! Many thanks to FSIL and Sister Toucan! :)

How cool! I just attended my first shower this past weekend and it was a couple’s shower too! I actually think it’s good way to have a shower, more relaxed!

I would kill for your floors. They are absolutely beautiful! How cool to have an empty place for the shower!

@L: I agree! Also, since Mr T. and I are BOTH getting married (and not just me!), I thought that he should be able to open some of our presents too!

@Jenningsblue: Thanks! We love the floors too, but soon we’ll be putting down some area rugs on at least part of the floor - we’re so worried about scratches!

@Miss Tiramisu: I’m glad you noticed the towel cake! Most of the guests marveled at my friend’s creation, and I liked it so much we haven’t taken it apart yet! I have some better pictures of it - including the Mario and Princess Peach “cake toppers.” I just couldn’t get the picture to fit the rest of the post. :)

Awww… so sweet! The tulip plates you used caught my eye because my mom recently bought me those very same paper plates, napkins, and cups for a girls’ Spring Brunch that I held a few weeks ago! :) Looks like you had a lovely time!
