About Mrs. Tiramisu

Ta Da!

April 28th, 2008 @ 5:34 pm by Mrs. Tiramisu

I’m taking a break from my double-stick-tape-covered invite assembly marathon to finally post these! Now that they’re done, I’m actually a little nervous to show them off… I’ve been working on them for so long! I’m excited to stop thinking about them and just finally get them mailed out.

Drumroll please…

Even though these took forever to design, gocco, and now put together, I’d still definitely recommend DIY. I had a love-hate relationship with them at times, but in the end I can say I’m happy with how they turned out- and psyched about all the money I saved by making them myself. Cost breakdown to come!

These are amazing. The satin ribbon looks especially perfect, given the color combination. Nice job!

Tierney says:

They are stunning! Can you please tell me the name of the non-script font you used?

i think my question is the same as erica’s: did you burn separate screens for each address you’re sending an invite to? i always thought the gocco was only good when making multiple copies of the same image.

by the way, these look fantastic. i LOVE the swirly front, and i’m so glad to see how wonderful the metallic ink looks gocco’d onto dark paper.

The gold on blue looks gorgeous (especially on the ‘Celebrate’ card) … very rich looking.

(Erica/melodicsighs1 … it looks like the blue envelope (with the gocco’d address is the RSVP one, with the white one being the outer envelope.)

Thanks so much guys!
@Tierney: The non-script font is Mona Lisa.
@Erica: @melodicsighs1: @lou: Yeah, that’s the RSVP return envelope- sorry, I should have said that! My mom will be addressing the ivory outer envelopes in gold ink- Gocco wouldn’t be very good for that!@Elizabeth: Thank you so much for saying that about the ribbon- I changed the color a few times but kept coming back to that blue :)

I love your invites. The colors are greate and I love the Celebrate heading on the reception card.
I expecially liked the way you attached the enclosures. I want pocketfolds but they are so expensive to buy and time coonsuming to make for craft challenged people like me. The ribbon with the pretty clip is a great idea.

Gorgeous! We also designed our own and had a love-hate relationship with the process. They looked just how I wanted them to in the end. but ooohhhh, the process. LOL!

how did you do the ribbon on the front cover and inside of the invitation? it looks great and I’d love to try it on ours. Great job!

Miss Tiramisu says:

@red99hb: Hi! I made a slit at the fold, fed the ribbon through, and the ends meet underneath the tag on the front. I had to use a ruler to get it straight every time, which has been the most time-consuming part (I still have almost 100 to put together!).

These are BEAUTIFUL!!! I’m so impressed. I’m also planning on making our own invitations (also through Paper Source) and it’s so great to see what you’ve done! I’m totally new to the Gocco process….Did you Gocco each of those pieces? Where you have light blue and gold, were you able to do that on the same screen, or did you have to do that twice? Thank you SO much for opening my eyes to a whole new process that I can use!!!
