My Yummy Hairpieces!

April 30th, 2008 @ 1:11 pm by Mrs. Daffodil

Way back when the wedding planning first began, I thought that I would be wearing a headband on my wedding day. Of the weddings I had been to up until that point, most of the brides had worn tiaras or headbands, so I kind of took that for granted. Once I began scouring wedding blogs and checking out “real weddings” on The Knot, I fell in love with the idea of having smaller hairpieces pinned into my hair along with fresh flowers. Thus began my search for the perfect hairpieces!

I am excited to say that after looking for a while, they are finally here! I custom ordered them from Haute Bride, a local San Francisco bridal salon that specializes in bridal jewelry. While there are plenty of other salons that sell jewelry for cheaper, in my opinion, the selection and intricacy of detail they have just don’t compare to what I found at Haute Bride. They turned these around for me in one day, and I also placed my custom jewelry order with them as well, which took two weeks (picking them up on Friday!).

Aren’t they exquisite? I was so excited at how dainty and just “pretty” the detail was!

These will match my jewelry perfectly, which will also be freshwater pearls and crystal beads. I paid ~$40 each for them, which I thought was reasonable given that they are real pearls, crystals, and for the personalized service and customized handiwork.

I am going for my second hair trial this weekend (since that first one didn’t turn out too well!), and can’t wait to see what they will actually look like in my hair! Plus, I will have my earrings and necklace by then, so I’ll have the full set!

They are gorgeous! Just an FYI though, pearls do NOT react well to hairspray and other styling products. They should be fine once the styling stuff has dried, but definitely make these beautiful pins the very last thing you put in your hair!

Wow, they’re so pretty! (though the price makes me want to go into business making these things myself!) I made my pearl/crystal hair comb, and I agree with blushingaudrey, you should put it in AFTER all the hairspray has been shellacked onto your head! ;)
