Playing Games

May 1st, 2008 @ 9:29 am by Mrs. Penguin

My friend Jess got married three years ago and remembered how big of a kick I got out of her playing the “how well do you know your Fiance?” game, so she e-mailed Mr. Penguin 15 questions for him to answer, and while pre-partying in Vegas this past weekend, I had to try to guess what he answered.

I only got 7/15 right, but in my defense, he answered a few of the questions wrong, in my opinion.  :)

Here are some highlights…

What is your favorite sports team?
He said: Difficult question, let’s go wtih UCLA Basketball/Football, Twins and Vikings in that order.
I said: Timberwolves (WOW… talk about wrong.)

What is your favorite physical attribute pertaining to Miss Penguin?
He Said: Eyes
I said: Boobs

What is your favorite non-physical attribute pertaining to Miss Penguin?
He said: Her energy
I said: My unwillingness to take crap from people

What is your favorite Band?
He said: Pearl Jam or The Dan Band
I said: Dave Matthews. I refused to acknowledge that I am marrying someone that notes Pearl Jam as his favorite band.

What is your favorite drink?
He said: Manhattan
I said: Manhattan

What is Miss Penguin’s favorite drink?
He said: Vodka Tonic
I said: Vodka Tonic

If you had to live one place for the rest of your life, where would it be?
He said: San Francisco’s not bad. Westwood would be cool.
I said: San Francisco or West LA

What would you say Miss Penguins biggest pet peeve is?
He said: Wow…there are too many to choose from….other drivers?
I said: Wow…there are too many to choose from….liars? (I got a point for this one just for repeating the first half, verbatim)

I don’t know why, but I think these “Newlywed” type games are quite possibly the funnest games EVER!

Did you play a “Newlyweds” style game at your shower or bachelorette? What percentage did you get right?

Haha - yes I was surprised with this game at my low-key bach weekend also! I’m not sure what my percent was - but I do know my face was bright RED at one point. I don’t remember the question exactly - but it brought up an XXX rated memory I had totally forgotten about - and then was so embarrassed it was pretty much now public knowledge…. (I’m kinda conservative!)

Hmm I should get a copy of that list from my friends if they still have it! Will be funny to look back on in 20 years!

We did it too at my bachelorette. FI decided to answer all the questions using his smart ass attitude, so it made for some ridiculous answers.

My favorite was “Where do you want to retire?”

His answer was: Panama City Beach, FL with his third wife!

arrgh! so silly!

Ha! I would love your boobs too Penguin ;)

We did played that game at one of our showers. We did pretty well, but I don’t remember the exact score. I did remember what his favorite Led Zeppelin song was, though, which he was very impressed with.

LOL!
Yes they did it at my shower, but it was called “What Would GROOM Say?” (with GROOM replace with his name, of course!) And the part I really liked was that the questions were about *him* rather than about me, which I think might be harder to guess. So the multiple choice questions were like, what was Groom’s first job, what is Groom’s favorite Bride-Family holiday, what meal does Groom love to make for Bride.. etc.

I still did bad, though getting only 7 out of 12 right! bwah!

i love these games too though after taking my best friend to task for asking her now hubby random questions [thus making her having to stuff ridiculous amounts of gum into her mouth as penalties] i get the feeling she’s gunning for me when i get engaged. lol. but in her defense, she took the questions home and asked the hubby and he got half of the wrong! and they were his answers.

@rebecca: and Miss P. I love Pearl Jam too, just a long as it is 90’s PJ and now the more recent stuff, that sorry Eddie, blows :)

As for Newlywed Games - the past two shower I’ve been to the MOH snuck some time w/ the groom and interviewed him on camera - then @ the shower they would ask the bride the question, have her answer and then show the grooms answer. It was really cute!

I’ve been to showers with the video answers, and they are soooo fun! One of the videos also had the “favorite feature” question. They groom said “Toes… definitely her toes” WHILE cupping his hands in front of his chest (like boobs)!!!

I had to play a game where I had to guess answers to questions about my fiance. It was the funnest game of the day. Oh but every time i got one wrong i had to put a piece of bubblegum in my mouth. They chose Bubblicious. haha omg it was the funniest thing ever. And he added a few questions that he knew I wouldn’t get right. Bastard. :)
