I have a gajillion photos on my computer, all of which are backed up to CDs as well as to an online backup system. I probably should buy an external hard drive at some point!
I would LOVE these flash drives – they would be totally awesome to carry around as a teeny tiny digital photo album and jukebox!
My husband and I share an external hard drive that is devoted to just photos and videos. All of my photos are stored under folders named for the event or subject of the photos.
I keep all of my wedding plans organized on my hard drive with folders (programs, guestlist, invitations, wedding party, etc). This would be great so I can work on stuff wherever I go!
I have an external hard drive for the 3000+ pictures I’ve taken in the last 1.5 years, and would love these little doo-hickies to supplement my storage.
We use an external harddrive and upload to smugmug.com using folders based on year/month.
i heart iphoto on my mac!
and my external hard drive…
I depend on iPhoto! I am too lazy to print out photos anymore so now I just organize via folders in the program (*crossing fingers that nothing bad will ever happen to my Mac!*)
iphoto! But I should get a backup drive. It would be horrible to lose all those photos….
I use an external harddrive for all my photos. I also use Flickr to keep an online backup. I love to use flash drives to take stuff from work to home to school…
Thanks for the giveaway!
I would love one of these to store all my wedding things and be able to carry those documents around with me!
Used to keep it on an external hard drive until it crashed a year ago…
So now I just keep them in folders on my hard drive and also upload onto several flickr accounts.
I love iphoto. We have a bazillion pictures and need to get an external hard drive though
I use my hard drive (and periodically my flash drive) and organize my folders chronologically and/or by trip. I back up with CD’s (not enough though!).
I used folders in my hard drive. I would love to win this as I would love to carry my electronic copies of my current DIY projects with me, such as STDs, invitations, signs, etc. Please pick me!
Organized? I don’t know what that word means…lol. They are all over the place!
Whoa!! More Sandisks!!!!!!!!! I keep my images organized by putting them into folders on my desktop that have detailed folder names. Also, I email myself all kinds of pictures (and give them detailed names also) and then I can search my gmail and find the picture I am looking for quickly whenever I want to find a picture for myself or to show somebody some wedding details!!
I guess it *might* be easier to get a Sandisk and just put my folders of pictures on there instead of emailing them to myself all the time!
I have an organizational system only I could understand of folders, not just by date, but by theme and color and ideas…I don’t know why! I have them saved on my hard drive, copies on disc in my firebox and a few online on my flickr. whew!
I’ve got an ancient external hard drive and would LOVE one of the compact, cute flash drives!!!
I use every google product available - Google notebook, docs, picasa and gmail!
I use my hard drive but I try to keep it organized also on kodak gallery
I keep it in a folder on my desktop, but my C Drive is now too full. I just keep it on my camera until I can figure out a better alternative. I have so many photos that my computer is super slow now.
I LOVE Google’s Picasa photo program. I put all my pictures in files on my computer and Picasa knows where they are and lets me do some editing and upload them to a web album when I’m done. I would love to be able to give out the flash drives to my helpful ladies!
i find flickr the best source to keep and share my photos (though of course i backup on my desktop in folders by date and event name). it’s best to keep on top of it by dling from your camera after each big event, labeling and you’re done. no need to worry about organizing a gig of photos at a single time
I have all of my stuff organized into folders on my flash drive. Its nice that i can take them where ever I go. I never know when I need to check something.
I’ve been using a work-supplied thumb drive for all things wedding. I felt bad at first, but the girl in IT that gave it to me is also getting married and admitted she did the same thing. ![]()
Ugh, we have no system. For the most part I just save them onto my wedding folder on my laptop…
I keep them all on my hard drive. I share them through webshots but I almost never update it anymore
ugh..not very organized at all! I have all my photos uploaded on snapfish, shutterfly & kodakgallery–plus I have about 1/2 of them saved onto my harddrive. I also keep my favorites on the memory card and just continue to buy more cards when I need space. The photos that have been printed out I keep in folders & small containers that I keep inside large wooden boxes that I stack and use as lamptables.
my fiance has a computer, but I don’t so all of our pics are on his iphoto right now, this would be super helpful with clearing up some space on his hard drive!
I’m still in the planning process so I have folders on my hard drive…as that starts to fill up I’m sure my finace will have to reorganize everything for me…we will probably purchase an external hard drive (we’ve seen small, inexpensive ones at Costco)
I use iPhoto and Kodak photogallery. Keep ‘em organized by date. ![]()
I could really use one of these! My organization is at a stand still at the moment. I had an external hard drive with everything on it until it crashed last month and I got everything. I’m in the midst of trying to regather everything and at the moment I’m keeping everything in folders on my hard drive.
Far too many folders on my computer. These would be fabulous as a backup.
We keep it on our hard drive and make backups onto CD and DVD. Never too many backups. The flash drives would be awsome!
Google’s Picasa stores my photos, and PhotoWorks is the site I use to turn them into photo albums ![]()
I use folders on my computer and then use my fiancee’s external harddrive to backup (but not as much as I should)!
As many copies as possible! My pc, his pc, external hard drive, triplicate burned cds, flickr, flash drives… over the top, but so worth it when the pc dies.
I download all my pictures to iPhoto and organize them into rolls. That way, I can easily create photo books, make picture galleries for iWeb, and whatever else I want!
I label folders on my hard drive with month and year and add subfolders with the event name. I also backup photos by putting them on Picasa. ![]()
most are on my hard drive, some are uploaded to flickr. i should go back them up right now…
My boyfriend and I have known each other since we were about 11 years old and have had a long distance relationship since the age of 16. Throughout the years we have collected lots of pictures and small clips of each other which helps by always have a flash drive. This is for easy storing using any computer and for safety (have duplicates of memorable moments). We are planning to incorporate our pictures in a slideshow at our reception.
on my hard drive, and far too rarely backed up on dvd.
It’s a toss up: most of my pics are on a flash drive or CD, some still haven’t made it out of my camera, and some are in a photo website. I need to get organized!
I curently have all inspirational photos on a flash drive ![]()
Everything is in folders by date and subject and then transfered onto an awesome external hard drive. It took forever to get everything organized, but definitely worth the time to be able to find what I need and not worry about losing all my photos.
strictly on my laptop, in folders amongst folders, separated by friends, family, birthdays, all with their own sub categories. That reminds me, i need to back up!
I keep my photos organized by date and event… and they are adding up to chaos!
Again, I would love to win! Thanks for the second chance!
currently i am using my old laptop as storage and a new one for use. this needs to change.
I use my hard disk (though this can be complicated with two different computers). The lifesaver is programs like photobucket or picasa or shutterfly. My favorite is shutterfly. I used to make all these cool albums on sony imagestation before it shut down.
We use flash drives, our hard drives on my Mac and his PC, and two external hard drives to keep everything organized and backed up. We also use Picasa, but that’s more for sharing than for storage.
I must admit though, he’s much more anal about this sort of stuff than I am… surprising, because I’m normally the OCD queen.
These little flash drives would be the awesomest attendant gifts ever. Thanks weddingbee!
we have an external hard drive as well. We also make a cd of photos of ever year, just in case.
a folder in my computer with sub folders with different events and dates… also backs it up with online photo posting ![]()
Various folders on the hard drive, plus photobucket, and snapfish.
This would be awesome!
External hard drive, flash drives, and good ol’ burning to CD. The other day I was looking for some old files, and I had to look for a floppy disk drive, which was a challenge!
I am not organized at all. I leave this up to my fiancee.
by the date i download them onto my computer…..i’m not too organized…….
I keep my on my FI’s hard drive. He backs it up every now and then too so we don’t lose them! I also like to load my up on Kodak gallery so I can share them and also have some of the printed through them.
I am thinking about getting an external hardrive but for now I keep them on my laptop and sort them by date and topic.
ex. all the pictures for the shore have a date and a tag “LBI” (this is short for Long Beach Island) and then another tag for clamming, lighthouse visits, etc. All my wedding planning picts are marked Wedding Planning and tagged with the source if I have it and are dated but not sorted by date.
I use this adorable hard drive that resembles a flask. It’s not quite as portable as I would like though, it would be nice to be able to store recent picture on my keychain with one of these!
Organized… that is not part of my vocabulary. *click, click, click* I arrive at dictionary.com - Organized having a formal organization or structure, esp. to coordinate or carry out for widespread activities. I don’t have any of that! Help. Please let me have one of these drives to help insert some organization into my life. I’m drowning in Wedding planning ideas!
Just on my computer in different files - not very organized files at that!
I am using a usb drive but its getting full so I would love a new one!
i keep all my pictures on snapfish & organized on my hard drive. i have a terrible paranoia that one day snapfish will go out of business & my computer will break & i’ll lose everything. fingers crossed it’ll never happen! the scandisk would be an awesome additional back up!
Unfortunately, things aren’t very organized, but they at least everything is on my computer!
I’m a professional organizer, so you can imagine how anal-retentive I am about files. Our pictures folder in divided first by year (2006, 2007, etc.) and then by Month and then by topic (IU Homecoming, Summer Vacation). This drives would be just one more way to keep everything uber-organized!
Lots and lots of folders on my laptop. The only backup I have right now is ofoto…..
I use Picasa’s downloadable program. Very nice interface.
On my hard drive… in a million of folders - organized by year, month and day…!
Hmm…. well we really don’t have them organized at the moment.
This would definitely come in handy for myself and my bridesmaids.
Our laptop was recently crashing so we backed up all of our pics and documents on cds - 16 of them (which FH didn’t label well). Our desktop doesn’t have enough memory to store them with all of my itunes songs on it. While the laptop is repaired, I am sorting through stacks of CDs to find pics for the wedding. Oh my!
Way too many folders on the desktop… then printed and into scrapbooks!
my computer is filled with folders full of photos! i burn them on a disk for back-up.
I have awful luck with computers (I’ve had 3 computers over my 3 years of law school and each has had to have at least one hard drive replaced) so I do lots of things. Everything is on CD or an external hard drive. I also have pictures on Picasa and documents on my flash drive. The last time my laptop died I lost all of the wedding related folders in my favorites file so I have started saving that to my flash drive too!
We keep all our pictures in folders on our harddrives and about every 3 or 4 months we back them up on a flash drive that we keep in our safe.
I don’t really have any type of organization when it comes to this. Sometimes I’ll upload pictures to photobucket but other than that my pictures tend to stay on my camera. THEN I have to go back and erase pictures when I want to take new ones because my memory card is always full. It’s a vicious cycle…which is why I SO need one of these. And I’d love to be able to give them to my bridesmaids too! ![]()
I use my digital memories organized by using a personal program called “Fiance”.
seriously, he’s the most organized guy/person i know and he has all my digital photos/videos in folders labeled with dates, titles etc.
he even has our “for our eyes only” pictures well stored - to the point that even i can’t find it.
Too bad i lost all the pictures of the first 2 years of our relationship when my labtop sizzled out.
Using my Mac. Its so easy. Folder, color coded and all. Then I have Itunes for my music, iphoto for my pictures and Imovie for my home movies…and I look at all of them on my ipod touch.
I use several different SD cards to keep my photos organized. I also keep albums on photobucket, facebook, and myspace!
I use iphoto…with a back up on a separate hard drive…and on my husband’s computer…and DVD copies (one with us, one with my parents, one with my in-laws)! I’ve had so many hard drive crashes that I don’t like taking risks!
oh and ya, quartly dvd backups of course. I dont have an external drive yet.
All my digital memories are on my computer, so here’s hoping it won’t crash, haha!
I have an enternal hard drive with most of our pictures loaded in a fire proof safe. Can’t be too careful! I use tons of reavel drives to back up all my folders from my computer. All colour coded and named.
I keep them on my ancient laptop and back them up on cd so I don’t lose them the day my laptop finally decides to die.
If I want to do something fun like a slideshow, I throw pictures into iPhoto.
Every picture that I take gets uploaded to my flickr pro account, though. I’ve had my hard drive wiped too many times to only keep them there! Plus it’s nice to be able to access photos/storage from anywhere in the world!
Backed up thrice! Keep them on the computer, on my external hard drive and for just in case times, they are uploaded onto my kodak gallery.
Lately, I’ve been using flickr to keep my pics organized.
When I got a new lap top this year I kept my desk top for the sole purpose of pictures. It’s hard drive is one big album. Also most of them are on either facebook or myspace (I know, how juvenile) and also FI’s computer or flash drive so we won’t lose them.
Looks like I need to start thinking on how to organize! =)
Grr. It cut off my post.
I have waaaay too many photos and have to back up like crazy. I need something to carry around and share with others.
Currently, I only have an external huge HD.
I keep digital photos organized chronologically and use iPhoto to help with that.
I have a 500GB external hard drive that I use to store most of my hundreds of gigs of photos. I also burn them to DVD so I have a backup. I have about 8GB of flash memory for my DSLR camera that I use too… and a 60GB iPod that’s good for storage sometimes.
i organize everything and back up my files, iphoto, ical, etc. on my external hard drive. i’m running out of room…
i am in love with iPhoto. it’s so much better than the random folders i used to keep my digital pictures in. i also use an external hard drive and flash drive for storing and sharing images. flash drives would make such a chic wedding party gift! you could even pre-load them with images and music… i love this idea!
My fiance’s a photographer, so we double back-up everything with an external hard-drive and on CD.
All my family live out of state and since my parents aren’t too internet savvy, so whenever I go visit, I usually either lug my external HD or burn it onto CD which takes too much time!
I love the fact that I can carry around a small “device” to share upload pictures on to my comp.
I really need this- My canon software crashes all the time since I have over 5000 pics saved on my computer =(
my FH and I share a database that is specifically for our photos. We use to have his and hers folders but that is slowly becoming “OUR” folder.
We also maintain a flickr account for our friends and families to enjoy our photos!
i own a mac and it seems like the only choice i get is to store all my photos in iphoto.
I keep everything stored on my laptop, but I need to start backing them up on an external hard drive, too.
i use iphoto for the pictures that manage to get downloaded from the camera (to be honest, there are still some that live solely on the camera memory card that were taken over 6 months ago). but i think getting an external hard drive and maybe a flickr account are now on my to-do list.
I just store it on my laptop, but I really need an external hard drive :X
we share an external harddrive between our laptops, but he’s also setting up a website on his office’s server (we have permission) where everyone involved can upload their stuff.
i don’t have an organization system– maybe that’s why i can never find anything?! heehee!
Pretty simple method, I just have a folder labeled pics then within it is multiple folders and each pic is organized into the correct folder (i.e. family, pets, etc). I back everything up on my flashdrive (which is currently full!)
I *don’t* organize my photos very well. Though, everything is backed up on a CD. That’s why I need this!
I have a drive just for wedding pictures. Of course, it’s full of subfolders that go on forever and ever and ever….
Well - my hard drive crashed mid invitation/wedding website/all of life planning and it forced me to be a better person….
So I triple back up everything that I do for the wedding and my pile of flash drives is unreal - and not nearly as cute as these!
I don’t, which is why I need to win one of these. Or, I guess I could stop being cheap and go buy one on my own. Maybe after Friday.
everything is scarily on my hard drive. i upload some stuff to my website, but it’s not even in the original size, so reprints are out of the question!
i try to make folders by events or by people.
My photos are organized in iPhoto. My wedding “inspiration” images are stored on a tiny 512mb flash drive - I love being able to plug in and view them from anywhere. These larger flash drives would be SO nice!!
I wouldn’t call this organized…but thumb drive, snapfish, and hardrive folders
I keep everything on hard drive, and on shutterfly just in case.
Me! I’d love to give one to my MIL so she won’t lose all her pictures again.
But I use flickr.com and ofoto.com (since 1999!) and create photo books at least 3-5 times a year. I use it to create photobooks of the year overall and I use it to create photobooks of certain trips or events. Currently, my favorite is between mpix.com and mypublisher.com but I love how qoop.com works with flickr.
But I organize my pictures on my computer by year and then, by month.
I have a disorganized combination of external hard drive and CDs going on right now… ![]()
External hard drive, detailed folder and picture names with dates and scrapbooks!
I just have different folders on my hard drive and I also put all my photos on shutterfly…trying to get the motivation to make scrapbooks as well!
I keep everything on folders on my computer … and just pray my computer never dies!
Organized in folders with a text document containing information for the folder’s contents in vague Dublin Core metadata standard. Yeah, I’m a library science grad student.
would use to back-up important images (i.e. those from wedding) and files. they could help me with organizing as well! ![]()
I store all my pictures in a file on my computer and pray that nothing happens to them!
I Try to organize them by date and event description on my computer and shutterfly.
I try to keep everything digital organized, but there’s so much! I store my photos on my computer and Kodak Gallery. All my school documents are stored on my computer. I splurged for security last year and purchased an external hard drive, but I’m still to scared to delete everything off of my computer!
Err…for the moment, everything is stored either on my harddrive at home, or my harddrive at work. Scary things could happen if either one of those computers die!!
i just use my computer. but i had an old ipod nano that i don’t use anymore, and i store all of our wedding pictures on it - my husband calls it our “nano wedding” ![]()
I keep my digital images organized by creating different folders on my computer to put all of my images in. I also use Flickr.
Laptop, shutterfly, CD, flash drive, and Facebook/Myspace. I am super paranoid!
folders folder folders on my computer, external hard-drive (the big stuff), and flash drives ![]()
