Introducing Miss Candy Corn

May 6th, 2008 @ 10:27 am by Mrs. Bee

Please welcome the latest bee to the hive, Miss Candy Corn!

About candycorn

Miss Candy Corn, Philadelphia
Age & Occupation: 23, Senior Editor/Fine Arts Writer at Lifestyle Magazine and freelance illustrator
Fiance’s Age & Occupation: 24, Student
Engagement Date: September 1, 2004
Wedding Date: October, 2008
Venue: University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology
About Me: I enjoy people watching (especially in New Jersey malls), obsessive collecting, drooling over contemporary art, browsing flea markets for vintage finds and eating an absurd amount of cheese. In my Philadelphia abode, I create mixed media artwork and one-of-a-kind home accessories in the company of my farmer-tanned fiancé, our Westiepoo (Betty White), our three rabbits (Cadbury, Willie Nelson and Applesauce) and our two frisky chinchillas (Ethel Funk and Maude).

PS - We have a whole swarm of bees getting married in the next two months, so we have a lot of slots opening up.  Apply to be a bee today! :-)

I worked at the anthro museum for years! Nice to see someone here using it as a venue. (We would always sneak a peek at the preparations on Fridays and Saturdays. :0)!)

Are you using the Chinese Rotunda?

Welcome, Miss Candy Corn!

What’s your favorite cheesesteak place? My coworker took me to Tony Luke’s when we were there in January for a conference. Mmm-MM!

rebecca says:

@Miss Candy Corn: I’m from West Chester, but living in Texas. =( It’s very different here…

Judging by all of these responses, I think a Philly Weddingbee meet-up would be fun! Maybe we should go to Reading Terminal Market and taste some cheese. =) But let’s do it when I’m in town!!

lionsaoi-yep we’re using the chinese rotunda for our ceremony, and then the upper egyptian galleries for our reception (expect a post on this soon!)

hi miss cherry pie! my favorite cheesesteak place is right down the street from me in roxborough/manayunk…it’s called “chubby’s,” which is probably a sign that i shouldn’t go there on a weekly basis, but that doesn’t stop me!

rebecca-i’m totally up for a philly weddingbee meetup at the terminal market! mmmm cheese.

thanks again for all of the lovin!

Miss Candy Corn, welcome!

I am becoming a pretty big fan of cheese myself. Will you have a cheese course for your wedding? If you’re ever in NY, check out Murray’s cheese if you have not already.

Miss Candy Corn says:

carib queen-Unfortunately cheese won’t be playing that large of a role in our wedding, apart from on a few hors d’oeuvres. Mr. CC absolutely despises cheese…he says it has to do with living in France for four years, which apparently “ruined cheese” for him. Pffffft, there is no such thing as ruining cheese in my book!

elizabeth says:

Hurrah for another Philly bride indeed! :-) Can’t wait to hear all of your details!

Yay Philly, my hometown, how I miss it! We’ll be moving back once I finish up law school. We actually got engaged in that museum, it was where we went on our first date! Beautiful place. =) Congratulations!

Colleen says:

Hi Miss Candy Corn- yea! for another philly bride- I am getting married in 2 weeks in Lansdale!

37.
beanchar says:

Welcome Miss CC!

For a second, the resolution on my monitor made it look like you had suffered the same fate as any candy corn that gets near beanchar— white tip bitten off before other layers are devoured!

38.
Miss Dori says:

Hey Miss CC!

Love the venue - lots of atmosphere & probably great acoustics for the ceremony. It is just beautiful - we go there often! My stomping grounds with my Mister.

~~~ Blessings in your Bee-ing ~~~ :-)
