About Mrs. Daffodil

Prettier and Pinker!

May 7th, 2008 @ 2:21 pm by Mrs. Daffodil

It is so worth it to let your vendors know when you are not 100% satisfied. Back in February, Mr. D and I went to the florist to see a sample of our centerpieces. It was…OK. That morning, the florist had called and didn’t have the exact flowers we had wanted, but said to still come in so we could get a sense of the colors. They were fluffy and pretty, but to be honest, just looked very washed out (the dominant color had been white).

Well, we kindly requested to view another sample - We were going in again this past weekend anyway, to finalize all the details for the wedding day. Since our wedding colors are pale green with hints of blush, we thought we would try and see how things would look if we went all the way with the pinks.

Immediately, we were a million times happier with the results! Check ’em out…

Pretty, yes?? smiley10101 I think they will totally evoke the lighthearted sweetness and romance of our Springtime wedding!

Those are blush hydrangeas, blush lisianthus, and darker pink roses. We got rid of the orchids, as they took away from the softness and fluffiness. I think these will go great with the theme, as there are other elements of our table set-up that will be completely pale green.

By the way, our florist is Shirvan Designs in Burbank, CA. We are working with Arsine, who was really wonderful in trying to make real the vision we had. We could tell that she definitely knew what she was doing! I’ll let you know how the wedding day itself actually goes - I am very excited!

Your flowers look beautiful!! I’m brand new to the wedding bee and I’m already addicted! My fiance and I went for a consultation at Shirvan. We are currently still deciding on our florist, but Shirvan is one of our top choices! From the looks of your sample centerpiece, they do great work. Looking forward to seeing how the actual wedding day turns out. I’m sure it will be fabulous!
