Trying to plan a wedding in a new city, not to mention a new country, is tough, but the fact that we can get legally married here more than makes up for it! The wedding will be an opportunity for most of our family and friends to see our new city for the first time so it will be both a wedding and a reunion. Besides my future wife, I am also madly in love with a good bargain, Swedish pastries, Tivo, and my two dogs and calico cat (in no particular order).

Something Flamboyant!

May 7th, 2008 @ 11:40 am by Miss Gingerbread

I’m over my “wedding attire” budget, so I should NOT be looking at accessories, especially not purses. C’mon, I can totally get away with making other people carry my lipstick or whatever else I might need on my wedding day. But I blame, Tha Hotness, for taking me down that path.

Oh fun, flamboyant accessories, how I love thee.

The first two below are Isabella Fiore and Treesje clutches from Bag Borrow or Steal.

This Nine West clutch is $59 at piperlime.com!

None of these bags match my wedding outfit, by the way, but that doesn’t stop me from coveting them. But yes, “want” does not equal “need”, and I certainly don’t need a fancy wedding purse. Hmm, but maybe I can score something crazy that won’t break the bank at a thrift store…

Does anyone else share my desire for flamboyant wedding accessories? If so, please share. I promise to be strong and not impulse buy.

I’ve spent hours upon hours drooling at clutches on Etsy and then being like, do I really need one? And then convincing myself that I do and drooling some more, while being too indecisive to actually choose one! hehe

After my post about clutches I decided based on the comments that A. I didn’t need one, and B. I still really wanted one! I ended up choosing the purple and navy much more flashy version of the white one that I posted. I’m so excited to use it on my wedding day… and then every time I use it after that I’ll think of the day. These are way too cute not to somehow sneak into your “wedding attire” budget… call them something else! :)

Ahhh that Isabella Fiore clutch is *gorgeous*. Even though I already bought my shoes and decided I didn’t need a clutch, I keep obsessively searching out gold heels and clutches. I have a problem!

@Miss Candy Corn: I love that there is no pressure to “OMG, find the perfect bag or DIE!” I like that I can take it or leave it :)

@Miss Tiramisu: I want to see!

i have this serious thing for feathers….and i NEED that first purse in my life…….omg….it fits in with my theme soo well……i haven’t clicked on the link bc i am afraid of what it would cost….as you can see from my name i’m trying to “get married for less” around here….lol….

but i really love, love accessories and spend many hours surfing the web (at work, mind you) looking at pretty things that I can’t afford so i can try to find them at bargains elsewhere……. ;)

@GetMarried4Less: I understand. Don’t click it, girl! I’m a rabid bargain shopper, so I can’t justify a $100+ impractical purse that I don’t need, but they sure are fun to look at :)

@AliCherri1: Sadly, there is no Target in Canada :( But next time I’m stateside, I’ll make it a point to stop by. Good suggestion! I love and miss Target.
