Mrs. Cookie, Denver Age and Occupation: 25, Nonprofit Fundraiser/Theatre Designer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, Financial Analyst Engagement Date: September 2007 Wedding Date: September 2008 Blogging Since: May 8, 2008 Venue: Ten Mile Station About Me: With a degree in Theatre I never realized that planning a wedding was a lot like Theatre Management, until I started planning my own. I am a coffee addict, especially Starbucks' Grande Mochas, yummy! I love to cook (especially chocolate chip cookies for my honey), travel to exotic places, and be creative. As a couple, Mr. Cookie and I are extremely practical, down to earth, and children at heart. We live in a cozy abode with our adorable Pomeranian, and love to play board games and watch movies into the evening.
About Mrs. Cookie

C is for Cookie!

May 8th, 2008 @ 3:30 pm by Mrs. Cookie

Hello!!! I am Miss Cookie and I am super-duper excited to be a bee! I was bouncing off the walls when I got the news at work, and I am so honored to be a part of the hive. Ever since I found out about Weddingbee, I’ve been an avid daily reader. I can’t wait to share with you all our crazy adventures in planning our nuptials, and I hope that I can be as much inspiration to you as Weddingbee has been to me. We have t-minus four and a half months until the big day, so hold onto your seats because I’ve got a lot of wedding planning stories to share!

First, let me tell you a little about how Mr. Cookie and I met. We have been together for a year and half, and we will get married two years after we met and almost a year (only off by a day) after Mr. Cookie proposed to me in Paris - stay tuned for that story. Ironically, we met at a wedding of two of our good friends. The night of the wedding, Mr. Cookie and I danced the night away and talked well into the wee hours of the morning — before I had to catch a 6 AM flight back to Washington DC. Although, I had lived in Colorado for several years, two weeks prior to the wedding, I moved to DC for a theatre job. The moment I got back to DC, I emailed Mr. Cookie, and thus began our long distance relationship.

Being in a long distance relationship with Mr. Cookie meant a lot of sleepless nights on the phone and thousands of frequent flyer miles. I hated being apart from Mr. Cookie, but the hours and hours on the phone built our relationship on a foundation of honest, open communication, which both of us agree is our strongest asset. During those conversations, we also realized that we lived a mile away from one another back in Colorado. We probably brushed past one another a million times at the grocery store, coffee shop, or the movies and never even knew it. Six months into our relationship I decided to quit my job in DC, and move back to Colorado to be with Mr. Cookie. Now, we live in a cozy abode with our adorable Pomeranian, Lyla.

I chose Miss Cookie for two reasons: 1. I love to cook, especially chocolate chip cookies and 2. Mr. Cookie loves to eat. Also, Mr. Cookie and I have a bit of a sweet tooth! Not only do we love good food, but we love to watch movies, play board games, and travel!

Our pom, Lyla

Mr. Cookie and I are getting married at 10,234 feet above sea level in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. We found this amazing location for our wedding in Breckenridge, Colorado called Ten Mile Station. Situated on the ski hill, it has a panoramic view of the Ten Mile Mountain Range for not only our ceremony, but reception as well. It reminds me of the mountains back home in Montana. I can’t think of a more romantic place to share with our friends and families the deep love that Mr. Cookie and I share. Overall, I want us to look back years from now and remember how much our wedding was an expression of our love.

So, that’s us! I’m excited to share the next few months of our engagement with you! Let the wedding planning stories begin!

Ahh, long distance love fuelled by all night telephone calls! I can totally relate to this :) It took 3 months before I moved across the country (also from DC, weird!)

@sarahbe: Hopefully, the Aspens will be bright yellow! I am praying for no snow!

@Laura: *raises hand*

@LeahB: Even though she is three years old and will never get any bigger, she will always be a puppy to me!

The long distance was really hard. We did see one another every three to four weeks, but I am such a girl, I bawled every time we parted.

oooh caribou coffee! there used to be one on my college campus but it closed and i while i found an acceptable replacement of my hot white chocolates [at another cafe on campus...none since i graduated and moved back to cali though] nothing compares to a caribou hot white chocolate. thankfully my bf still lives in michigan [i think that's the ONLY time i've said that. lol] so i try to stop at the little store in the dtw luggage claim. so very conveinent.

but i’m so glad to see another long distance relationship end in marriage! yay!
