Crazy Dreams

May 8th, 2008 @ 3:03 pm by Ms. Dahlia

Taking the advice of many in yesterday’s post, I decided to head to bed early last night. I’m not sure whether it was the exhaustion, the cold or the cold medicine, but I had a crazy dream last night.

It was a Sunday morning, which in my dream was the morning of our wedding. Only I didn’t realize this immediately. I went to church, was chatting with people and what not, and started driving to my parents’ house around 11:30am. Driving over there, I realized that I had totally and completely missed my hair and makeup appointments, and started freaking out because I was supposed to be at the hotel getting ready so that we could leave at 1pm for the church. I called the hair salon, but the person I spoke to said that they had wondered what happened to me, and that since they closed at 12pm, there was nothing they could do to help. I started panicking, but no one seemed to quite understand why I was so stressed out.

Then the dream ended. And I realized that there was no way that I was going to forget my hair appointment the morning of the wedding.

What crazy wedding dreams have you had?

In every single dream I have these days I am wearing my wedding gown! No matter what the dream is about I have my dress on.

I had a horrible dream that I forgot to book a photographer and didn’t realize it until the day of. The photography is one of the most important aspects for me, so I was freaking out. When I finally woke up, I had to go look at my photography contract again! This dream won’t come true…

I’ve had the same dream since getting engaged over a year ago … basically something not being done before the wedding:

My fiance has forgotten to book the limo…
It’s 3 pm and I haven’t showered - and it’s time for the ceremony!
It’s 6 pm and the reception is starting - but for some reason it’s in a friend’s apartment and I haven’t printed the menu cards?

Weird!!

OMG, I have had that same exact dream too! Except I didn’t even have an appointment at a hair salon, I was just trying to find one! It was horrible…

Haha, not to laugh, but dreams are so funny when you think about what they might mean, it’s obviously your brain just running through all the things you need to do and stay on top of. But there isn’t enough time in the day to think about all of them, so your brain uses sleepy time for it. I’ve only had one dream about my wedding so far, and it’s been that I’m about to walk down the aisle and I haven’t asked my dad if he would mind if my stepfather walks me too. I’m still yet to do this and it’s been bothering me, I know he won’t mind, but still, it’s freaking me out.

I had a dream recently where the flowers were all dead or dying cheap, “filler” flowers. Not the peonies and hydrangea I ordered. When I started freaking out everyone looked at me like I was crazy, telling me I shouldn’t care about these things. Then I called my florist who said I forgot to pay the final balance so these dead flowers were the best she could to with my deposit!! Needless to say, I’ve now set four reminders on my computer about paying that bill.

OMG! I had that exact dream last night! I was late to my wedding cause I missed my hair appointment! I woke up a bit panicked but realized, like you, that I wouldn’t forget my Wedding day hair appointment! :)

I’ve dreamt - several times now - that I waited until the day before my wedding to buy my wedding dress. It’s actually worse than it sounds, since in my dreams I’ve come to learn that I when I didn’t find one dress shopping with my mother I just forgot about the most important outfit of my life until the day before.

It makes me shiver just thinking about it…

I have had several crazy dreams….mostly about my dress. In one of them I forgot my shoes so my bridesmaids made me some out of tissue paper from the bathroom! I guess it’s a good thing I have crafty maids :-)

My wedding nightmares are always about missed hair appointments and no one showing up. Apparently that’s what I’m most worried about?

I had one the night before last and woke up completely sweaty. Wedding planning is not good for me, man.

I just had one where my dress was ruined during the pre-ceremony photos… In the morning I actually looked up stores near my location where I could buy a replacement if need be!

Haha, I also had one a while back where we held our wedding out of state (while our wedding is really in our hometown). I only remember thinking “boy, making all those hair and make up appointments sure were a waste!”

Dreams can be very scary, especially when you’re under a lot of pressure with planning the wedding and doing most of the planning yourself. You’ll laugh when you realize how different the day of the wedding is compared to your dreams. The day of my wedding was totally different from what I expected. I still dream of something going wrong.

I had those kind of dreams a lot when I was planning my wedding. I’d dream it was my wedding day and I suddenly realized I forgot to book a reception venue, buy the flowergirl’s dress, etc. Crazy!

No hair and no makeup. My worst nightmare that gets replayed over and over again. Another plus being a bride.

I just woke up from a crazy wedding dream and my first thought was, “I have to reply to Dahlia’s wedding dreams post.” Hmm…what does that say about me? :)

The dream was awful— everything we planned was gone, everyone hated the food, and the wedding was done after about half an hour and everyone went home. Scary!

Jasmine, that’s really funny- not your dream, of course, but that your thought was to reply to this post.

One of my first wedding nightmares was that it was only a month before my wedding and I had not started to work out. Somehow in my dream though I knew that I was about to be kidnapped by this rebel army (??) and I was mildly relieved because I thought… well at least I will lose weight if they starve me and I can do push ups all day in my cell. Um…. i think i win the crazy award!!!! WTH!!! I swear I do not have any eating issues and have no idea where this came from!
