Just a Few Words

May 12th, 2008 @ 9:31 am by Mrs. Gingerbread

As you may recall, we are going to do a ring warming ceremony during our wedding. This Paloma’s Nest ring bowl looks like the perfect vessel that we can then keep as a momento from our wedding day.

The only thing that has kept us from ordering this already is that we’ve been struggling with what quote to use.

BIL Bee and Mr. Bee would be very proud to know that I actually used the spiffy search function to see what other members of the hive have already suggested. This yielded a great find in this thread, “Favorite Love Quote(s)” created on the boards by scoobert. Reader triciaj shared this:

My mom was helping my grandparents move out of their house of thirty-some years. She asked my grandfather if he was upset about leaving his home. He told my mom something that has always been my favorite love quote: “My home is where ever she is.” (Referring to my grandmother, of course.) Makes me all verklempt!

I love this sweet story and this is a great quote for the little ring warming bowl.

Do you have any other suggestions? I’m looking for short, but sweet. :)

“My home is wherever she is” is absolutely beautiful! Impactful, not over the top.

we used a line from our first dance song on the bowl that we ordered from paloma’s nest. our song is sister hazel’s “this kind of love” and the line goes “this kind of love is why i’m standing here” - so we used “…it’s why i’m standing here…”. we thought it was fitting because we are standing in front of all of our family and friends because we love each other. not that deep, but i still think it’s kinda cute - and i love using “…” :)

These are the short quotes I have… not sure if any are appropriate, but I thought I’d share.

swoops on an oak
Love shakes my heart.”

I just ordered one of this bowls and I simply love it. Since I’m portuguese and FI is french speaking Swiss (we live in Switzerland) I wrote the following quote: “Il était une fois… Era uma vez”, which means “Once upon a time” in both of our languages…

I think just “Wherever she is” would be short, sweet, and a bit enigmatic.

I really really like it - very sweet, poignant…and lovely that you can use it because it will apply to both of you, from both of you. :) love it.

We are using DMB lyrics on our favor labels. My two favorite are:

Where you are is where I belong.

(from the song Where Are You Going?); and

You alone have all of me.

(from the song Rapunzel).

I bought the “To Have And To Hold” one, but without the holes in the bow.

I think the holey one would be cute for the ceremony, but without the holes I think it’s cuter for your armoire or whatever.

I’m having the same issue… I want to order one of these, but I don’t know what to put on it! I really like the “wherever she is” idea - I think that’s beautiful. I think I might put, “my life is better because of you,” which is what Mr.GV said when he proposed. :-)

that’s such a great quote!

my favorite “wedding love-y” is: “May the light of Love be with you every day” its from a folk song and I just love it!

good luck choosing!

I order two of these ring bowls - one for each ring bearer, one for each ring. They came and are wonderful. One says, “OF THIS WE ARE CERTAIN” which is an excerpt from a poem we are using in our vows. The other one says, “YOU ARE SURROUNDED BY MY ENDURING LOVE” which is from our ring ceremony. I love them! We replaced the silk string with an aqua ribbon to match the wedding colors. So sweet.
