Non-RSVPers

May 12th, 2008 @ 1:34 pm by Mrs. Flamingo

I was told that I should include an earlier reply by date on our RSVP cards to ensure that we would get all our responses a month before our wedding. I knew I would receive late replies - it’s a given. Well, we put a May 10th deadline and it has officially passed.

I knew we would have some people who wouldn’t respond on time, but I never thought so many people in my family would find it hard to mail a postcard, as it was prestamped. We sent out 75 invitations, and 18 of those RSVPs have not yet found their way back to our mailbox - that’s 24% non - rsvpers.

I will give them until Wednesday for those who mailed them out this weekend… but I ain’t gonna be the one to call them all… that’s what mothers and FMIL is for!

How many non-RSVPers did you get?

An embarrassing number - about 50% didn’t make the deadline. We got a few more in, but eventually my mom and stepmom had to call about 1/3 of the 150+ guest list. :\

JustChicEvents says:

We got about 10% but my mom hunted them down within a couple days of the RSVP date!

We got 50% by RSVP date, about 30% more in the week AFTER the RSVP date, and about 20% we had to call.

Our RSVP date was also May 10th, and I think a good 1/3 did not RSVP. So we are just emailing them all individually to follow up. Annoying but I am ashamed to say I used to be a bad RSVPer. Never again!

We’ve only gotten about 50% in, which is so frustrating. Not only are we having to track down an inordinate amount of people on our 230-count guest list, but I’m mourning the loss of stamps :(

I mean, seriously people. It’s pre-addressed and stamped! All you have to do is throw it in a mail box!

22 cards were never sent back to us which accounted for over 50 people. We have 13 guests to track down as of today.

We’ve got 12 as of today, our RSVP date was May 10 as well - although some have trickled in by way of email/facebook. I appreciate people letting me know that way or even if they threw the card in the box on Saturday - going the extra step to say “yes I’ll be there” in a more immediate form is awesome.

Hoping the rest get in soon so we can figure out final tables! Florist headcount due on Thursday!

I haven’t counted, but we probably have 10-15 people who haven’t rsvped and we set our RSVP date for April 30 (we allowed extra time so we could track down non-rsvpers).

We’ve also had FOUR people tell us that they lost their invites! i’m not sure if this is normal. :)

46% of our guest list hadn’t replied as of the RSVP. Crazy!!

Our date was May 9th so it just past and we have 25 (out of 130) that we didn’t get back. My brother did not even send his back and he is a groomsman! So this morning I made up lists for my mom, FMIL, FI & I for people we need to call. I need to final numbers for the reception by Firday, I am thinking I should have set the RSVP earlier than 3 weeks before the wedding.

Our RSVP date is in two days. We are waiting on 25 cards out of about 85. No cards came in the mail today, I was seriously bummed!

Argh - how frustrating!! I see this coming for us too. Our deadline isn’t until June 1, but I’m sure we’ll have a healthy number of people miss that. Many will likely be people who assume we know they’re coming.
And though it’s nice to get a verbal/email RSVP, you still have to send the card — esp. b/c we need to know meal choice. There’s a reason why it contained a self-addressed stamped envelope people!

I know people who purposefully peel off the stamp and use it for their own letters!

We started out with 305 invited. We heard from all but 35 by our RSVP date. That wasApril 30th. We still have about 5 holdouts, despite emails & phone calls. They better not show up!

Our deadline was May 10 too (weird!). I thought I was making it easy for people by telling them to email us but many are still M.I.A. Considering it’s a destination wedding, if they don’t get their butts in gear this week, they may not be able to come even if they wanted to. HAH. How’s THAT for sweet revenge!? ;-)

If you have their email addresses you could send them an email.

“Dear Friends and Family,

Every afternoon when I get home I run to the mailbox excited to see if any more of the RSVPs that we worked so hard on have arrived. With the anticipation of the wedding, it’s exciting to find out who else is coming.

Unfortunately I haven’t received a RSVP from you. If you sent it back, please let me know in case it’s lost in the mail. If you haven’t sent it in, please do so, even if you think that we know you’re coming. It’ll help us give our reception venue an accurate count.

Can’t wait to see you all at our wedding!”
