Wedding Updates

I owe a few wedding related updates… I did get the Tacori ring, but can’t seem to take a decent photo. I love it by the way.

Also, 13 months later, I’ve f-i-n-a-l-l-y lost most of the baby weight (although still not quite wedding thin), so I’m thinking of wearing my wedding top for our second anniversary.

It’s in a box under our bed, so I have to try it on one day when Mr. Firefly isn’t around. If I try the top on, do I need to get it re-drycleaned? Have any of you reworn your wedding dress after your wedding?

PS - My fabulous photographer Leah McCormick will be in NYC (from California) for an August 9th wedding. She’s recently gotten tons of calls to shoot weddings on August 8th — apparently a lucky day — but none in NYC. So if you’re a last minute kinda bride, there’s still hope for you.

I’ve been looking for a wedding top just like the one you have on in the picture. Where did you get it from? I need it in Ivory, and I’m in Canada.

I was thinking of wearing my wedding dress for our first anniversary. We were going to see Teatro Zinzanni, and they encourage that sort of thing. In the end though, I went with a costume.

My wedding “dress” was 4 peices — top, camisol (which I didn’t wear), sash and skirt — and they are all by monique lhuillier. Its an old design (2003-ish) but pretty popular, so they might still make it. My mother loved the top as well and got a similar one in black (for 1/100 of the price;-) from ann taylor, but that was a few years ago.

I love love LOVE that ring! I work at a diamond importer and saw a customer’s ring come in from Tacori after it was set with this gorgeous oval diamond (I never liked oval before seeing it in this setting) and just fell in love with that setting! Pretty and not too over the top - and oh boy, are there tons of settings that are just too much they’re gaudy.

Always In Style

First off - I adore your ring - it’s so elegant, ladylike, and just plain retro-glam!

Second - I love, love, love that you are considering wearing your wedding top again. It looked absolutely gorgeous on you (I’m a knottie from back when you were so I’ve seen your bio, like a hundred times).

I am dying to wear my dress again. It’s just that everyone I know has seen me in it (obviously) so I’ve been contemplating altering it into something else. Not sure if I will have the courage but I would totally encourage any bride to do so.

Thanks for posting, I’ve enjoyed reminiscing.

your blog came up when i was researching the Battery Gardens venue for my wedding. basically your wedding style is exactly what i want i would even have the same chuppa!!!! but most important is the dress which looked amazing on you!!!! i know this is crazy but would you want to sell it cuz i would snatch it up in a heartbeat!
