Perfect Table Plan Software Giveaway

May 15th, 2008 @ 5:25 pm by Contests

Congratulations to  winners msange, becky, SKM, Cyd, and msbutton!

~~~
Some of the bees were given the Perfect TablePlan software to test out and they all loved it so much, I asked Perfect Table to donate a couple of copies for a giveaway!
Planning seating usually turns out to be a lot more difficult than you might expect.  But Perfect TablePlan makes it super easy with features that help you manage your RSVPs and meal choices, experiment with different table shapes and sizes, automatically assign guests according to who they want to sit next to (or not next to), and the ability to print your floor plan, seating chart and place cards.
perfecttableplan_v311_w_900x600.png
We have 5 copies of this Mac & Windows compatible software to give away today!  To enter, please comment below and tell us how you’re handling the seating at your wedding — escort cards, placecards, table cards, seating chart, free for all?
You have until 8pm EST Thursday evening to enter.  Good luck! :)
We’re going to do table cards, but this would be such an amazing tool to help us since we have no idea where to start!! We are going to have about 250 people too, so we need the organization!
We’re planning on letting guests know what tables they are at and letting them seat themselves - however I don’t know too many of the guests on his family’s side so this would help immensely!
Ooooooooh, I would LOVE this! I’m currently planning on doing escort cards - get everyone to the right table but then let them choose who to sit by. I don’t need to dictate EVERYTHING about the wedding, right?
We had been leaning toward having a free for all until we heard from a significant number of our friends how much they like being told what table to sit at. It eliminates any possibility of accidentally taking grandma’s seat! ;-) So we are doing escort cards. I’m kind of afraid of trying to organize who will be sitting where, since we are having about 200 guests. It’s a little overwhelming!
Anyway, I hope I win, because this software sounds amazing!
We are having an outdoor tent wedding, so I won’t be 100% sure of how the tables are going to be arranged until everything is set up! There are sure to be last minute changes, and it seems like this software would really help deal with that.
God - I wanted a free for all just because I didn’t want another DIY project. But so is life, it’s totally not going to work - We’ll have to add 2 tables to make sure there is enough places for everyone and because I’m paying extra for table clothes I just can’t do it. So I need help! How do you get the perfect mix? Friends from different points of life, my family and his family. I’m really dreading this. That aside, I did find some super cute ideas for Escort Cards… tooth picks, moss and some great fonts.
I need this so badly. Its up in the air right now. I’m making table numbers currently, and we’re either doing escort cards or a seating chart. I think the chart would be easier, but the cards will be cuter… decisions decisions.
We’re definitely doing assigned seats, I’ve been to too many free for all weddings = no bueno.
We’re going to have a framed list of names and assigned tables as the guest come in w/ another framed diagram of were the tables are located. Then at each table we will put their name cards :)
So, this software would come in REALLY handy :)
Yeah! This looks amazing! We are using a framed seating chart that assigns tables and putting placecards at each seat. We wanted to take the stress away from the guests so this way no way will need to sprint to their table for a “good” seat.
We’ll do either escort cards or a seating chart/plan. There’s some family drama so the challenge will be seating certain people far enough from each other without demoting any of them by putting them off in the corner. YIKES - we have our work cut out for us!
I would love to use this software to organize our 212 guest seating plan! We are assigning tables, not seats, with escort cards. The tables will have empty bottles of wine that we’ve drank together and saved, and be named by the name of the wine. Guests will receive the name of their table on an escort card held in a wine cork, also saved from our actual use! We have rectangle and round tables seating different numbers so this will be quite the project!
When I was married in August I used Escort Cards. Doing the seating chart was so difficult. My sister is getting married next year and I’ll be heavily involved, since she will be very busy with a 1 year old! It would be great to have this software to take some stress out of her life. For her wedding, we will most likely use escort cards again, with no seating chart.
We are doing escort cards as it is another chance to use our monogram and I got cute mini photo frames from the knot.com wedding shop to place them in, which will double as favors. Guests are seating at tables with horses’ names from the KY Derby from the year we met. I would LOVE this program, because up until a month ago, FI wanted no seating plan! Now that he has seen the light, I know the arranging could be stressful and this would definitely help:)
I’ve heard so many nightmares about planning the seating arrangement that I’m scared! For guests, it can make or break their wedding experience. Who hasn’t gotten stuck sitting next to someone and you ask yourself, “What were they thinking putting me here?” We’re doing escort cards I have a growing list of do’s and don’ts next to each person so we can appropriate determine where everyone should sit. This program seems like a winner to me!
To assign or not to assign… that is the question with which we struggle. Originally, I was thinking a free-for-all, as we’ve got a small wedding. However, we’ve got a mix of people with a few singles thrown in to complicate things, so we’re now going with table assignments. So, probably escort cards?? Obviously, I need some help!
We’re having a seated buffet!! The guests will be seated at assigned seats (placecards) at assigned tables (table numbers). We’re using a seating chart, rather than escort cards to help guest find their seats.
But the beauty of a seated buffet is that we don’t have to worry about meal choices - everyone can pick what they like! Yay!
My RSVP date is May 23rd, so I’m about to be neck deep in seating assignments. This software would be terribly useful for me. I hope I’m a winner!
Our plan is to assign people to tables, but other than that, we have no idea! We have family from South Dakota, rural Vermont, Philly and Princeton. We have people from age 80 to age 14, and disparate groups of college friends (I went to Wellesley, he went to Princeton). Then we add that my parents are divorced, his father is deceased and we have lots of siblings, and we have no idea where everyone will best fit! The wedding is a little over four months away, and now that I’m starting to think about it, this is going to be a daunting task.
After recently attending a wedding with free-for-all seating, I’m definitely going with assigned tables with escort cards, but not assigned seats. I’m actually looking forward to grouping people together - family who won’t have been together for a wedding in years, college friends, my best friends from camp, etc. I think it might be fun to pair people together, but this software would make my life easier in terms of people who don’t fit into any obvious group. What a great idea!
I wanted to do a free for all but with 148 guests that would be a little too crazy. So instead we’re doing table cards and place cards. Hopefully it will go smoothly!
Oh, WOW. I am so excited that something like this exists. Whenever I think of seating arrangements, I envision spending hours on a mock-up with little red and blue flags like Monica on Friends did. We’re going to do table cards, but haven’t quite gotten to that stage yet.
My FI and I have been tossing around fun table naming conventions - movies, tv shows, sports teams. We want to use escort cards but figured putting the tv character’s name on it as a way to find the table with the tv show might be a bit too much.
i am doing it all - table plan, escort cards, table numbers, personalized menus with a welcome note, seat cards. i am a design and paper fanatic, and it’s important to me that the look and feel of our wedding is carried out through the table.
i’m also working with a catering vendor at the beach that’s a little… not detail oriented so i definitely need to be able to share a diagram of how things should be set up so there’s no miscommunication!
We are still struggling with this. We are going to need to do a seating chart to assign tables but I don’t think we’re going to assign specific seats at the tables unless there are more diplomatic issues than what we foresee at the moment. And I’m hoping to find the time to write every guest a personal note on their escort card. But we’ll see about that in the few weeks leading up to the wedding!
Our table cards are going to be the names of places we’ve lived leading up to our new house which will be the name of the head table! I’m still trying to figure out the best way to display that and to organize who is best to sit at which table… ie my family would probably prefer to sit at one of my houses growing up rather than his… so software would be great!
My future husband and I met at a bachelor/ette wine tour for his brother (one of my dearest friends) and my best friend, in whose wedding we were the Best Man and Maid of Honor respectively. Since then, wine tours have become an activity we love and treasure. Accordingly, we are going to use names of some of our favorite vineyards for the table names and use small personalized bottles of wine from our favorite winery (the place where we first broke the ice) with a beautiful tag around the neck of the bottle indicating at which table each guest will be seated. We are still debating whether or not to assign specific seats or just tables.
Our families and friends largely have not met and I have not met many of his friends from his college years so the trick for us will be meshing everyone together in a way that is not awkward but still allows for everyone in our world to interact, mingle and get to know one another. I think it would be so wonderfully helpful to have softward to help us accomplish this task!
We will probably do escort cards to get everyone to the right table and then let them choose their seat — a little organization mixed with a little freedom. ;) The funny thing is that “high tech cool seating programs” is the thing I’ve heard my fiance get excited most about during the planning process so far! He even wanted to choose our reception hall based on the fact that one of the venues gave you a free seating program when you booked your wedding! Alas, we went with another reception hall so no free seating program for us! We would absolutely love this!! :)
I’m debating between table cards and free for all. Our venue has a few tables that are in less-than-ideal locations (kind of stuck away in the corner) so I’m not sure if it would be really insulting to assign people to that table. However, the idea of putting together interesting tables sounds like a fun challenge to me!
We’re doing escort cards. Since I’m persian and FI isnt, I’ve been trying to come up with subtle ways to incorporate my cultural in the reception so we came up with the idea of having our guest’s name and table number in engligh on one side of the card and their name and table number in Farsi on the other side. This also helps for some of my family who are traveling from Iran to come to the wedding and dont read English. We also decided since we are having a sit down menu, to include a mini menu on the inside of the escort card outlining which each guest will be having.
We’re trying to minimize our use of paper products, so we don’t want to use escort cards or tags. So far, the best idea we’ve had is to put pictures of our guests (I think we can collect them all) on their proper tables as part of the centerpiece/decoration. It will be fun to watch everyone mingling and looking at pictures of our lives (and theirs!) while hunting for their tables.
We have quite a mix of people to seat and I’m actually looking foward to the challenge of working it all out. It’s an interesting thing to try to figure out who of your family and friends will love and/or hate eachother. Fascinating social dynamics! I could certainly use some objective help (i.e. computer software)!
For seating I am making wooden Christmas ornaments (similar to the ones my grandfather has made for all of the grandchildren for almost 20 years) to use as our place cards. With almost 200 guests this software would be very helpful!
Aaaaah, I want, I want!! I am doing the whole seating cards/place cards scheme. It’s going to be such mayhem, believe you me, people will need to be told where to sit. So it’s either this program… or I’ll be on my hands and knees with index cards and round circles cut out of construction paper, haha.
We’ll be doing escort “boards”. The names and table numbers will be printed out on a white damask vellum paper and placed in a large vintage, gold frame. The guest will find their name and be able to go to the table from there. I want them to chose their seats because honestly, they’ll make themselves comfortable no matter what! Happy planning, Ladies!
we’re doing numbers that are important to us. . . ie 3025 = our address, 12 = july 12 is the day we got engaged, 23= date parties attended together in college, etc.
we haven’t figured out how we’re going to post our cards yet - but we’re excited to come up with something different and unique!
Ironically enough, I was just looking at the perfect table software last night - I need it so badly - we’re having a tented reception with over 300 people — uuuggghhh = nightmare planning the seating! I could really use it!!
An escort card (a coaster with name, table number, and on the back, our donation favor) will direct people to the correct table. There are 5 long tables (seating approximately 40 people each). On the tables there will be wine bottles with the table number (Martha’s idea). Since the tables are long - there will be many bottles per table stating the table number. Once people arrive to their table, there is assigned seating (it is too hard to seat yourself at long tables). Their placecards have their names on linen style paper in thermography with one of three motifs from our wedding (grapes, olives, leaves). The place cards are either orange (beef), yellow (fish), or green (veggie) so the servers know what they ordered - these also go with the wedding colors. These placecards will be held up by two corks (we are getting married at a vineyard).
I would like to win this one please. :)
I currently have a gigantic sheet of graph paper with all of the measurements of the reception area and little cut-outs of tables that I’m using to find the perfect arrangment of tables in our oddly-shaped venue. I would love to get my dining room table back and put that darn chart in the recycling!! For the wedding, we’re going the good ‘ol escort card route for our 350+ guests. There is a gorgeous wrought iron gate leading into our reception venue and we will be weaving twine in and out of the gate and affixing the seating cards with miniature clothespins. I’m super excited, but boy oh boy would this program make the process even more enjoyable!
I wanted to save money and combine the wedding favors and escort cards into one so i’m going to fill glass jars with lids with hershey kisses and tie a light green ribbon around it with a tag. on the front of the tag, it’ll have the guest’s name and name of table and on the back, we’ll have the “thank you for coming” line. two birds one stone. i love being efficient! this program will come in really handy because i want to seat all the non-party people towards the back so when they leave, it’ll be less noticable to us. yay~
The best way to handle seating drama/family politics (*insert cry of misery here*) would be to stick my head in the ground like an ostrich and act like if I can’t see it, it isn’t happening.
We are using escort cards based on the marine signal flag alphabet. Each guest will pick up a flag with their name on it, and match it to flags at each placesetting at the tables. I’d love to do a free for all… but I know 90% of my guests would complain.
So their going to sit where I tell them!
Now, I need one of those so I can do it with out pulling out all my grown out wedding hair!
we’re doing escort cards and place cards because we have meal choices and have to give the staff the list, but as of now I have no idea how to approach the seating arrangements. This would be so helpful!
I think we’ll have escort cards that assign people to tables, but not seats. Yow, I’d love to win this!
We are doing assigned seats but instead of escort cards with the necessary time sink, we are doing table cards.
This software would come in handy, especially for those “divorced” guests I need to separate in the room. We are doing formal escort cards and placecards for each guest on the table. I’d like for couples to sit across from each other. :)
This will be sooooo great since I’m having 2 receptions! Most likely just doing seating charts and maybe escort cards?? I don’t know!!
We’re making 2 seating charts and putting them in gold frames to match our pink and gold colors. We have about 360 guests, and an extremely large portion of that is the groom’s catholic family, who are all very political about who they sit next to. This software would be extremely helpful!
Likely escort cards-but we are still trying to figure out table configurations. This software seems like it would be pretty helpful!
his family is all about drama… I however would like to avoid as much of that as possible the day of.
I believe this may help remove some of the headache for me!
I am thinking of hanging our escort cards from a ribbon wall. We’ll see how that goes.
That would be fabulous. Our invitations are going out soon and I don’t even want to think about what a nightmare the seating will be! We’re going to do placecards.
I think I will have the guests come up to a table of helpers that will tell them which table they are assigned to. At the table there will be a table number with our guests names on them, but they will be able to choose which seats to sit in. This software would be an AMAZING help as we anticipate there will be about at the very LEAST 300 guests!!
we are doing old fashioned usher seating at the wedding - guests come in - sign the fabric - and get a real person to lead them to their seats =) the hardest part of seating and arranging is marrying (no pun intended) the two cultures and people that may or may not want to sit next to each other for language barrier reasons.
This seems like an OCD brides’ dream come true! We have 250 guests from all walks of life and my most important reception tasks seem to be making sure Groomie’s rowdy frat brothers don’t sit with our church friends & both of our single (and ready to mingle) dads don’t find a seat near our young female friends. *wink wink* = ) It’s been a real circus, but should be an interesting evening. We plan to use place cards to designate tables and let our guests sit where their tush desires.
with 300 guests — we have yet to figure out how to seat everyone and organize things! all we know is that there will be placecards for everyone to pick up when they walk in — but we have to figure out where they’re sitting first! this would be a lifesaver :)
My OCD-self would totally LOVE this program! We are using escort “cards” that are really going to be hand-made paper flowers with names and table numbers on the leaves and placed in wheat grass. We will also have seating place-cards on small sticks put into ferrero rocher candies. We are currently considering table chart but not sure if it is necessary since we have 175-200 guests. thanks!!
We are letting our guests know what table their at, but then it’s their decision what seat to sit in… I think people will enjoy sitting where the want at the table, esp when they’re named after moves & Broadway shows ;-)
We are planning to do assigned tables, but not assigned seats. If the free-for-all method didn’t seem too uncomfortable for some folks, I’d be tempted to leave it up to our guests, but I don’t want any “odd-men-out” that night. PS. Perfect Table Plan looks like a dream!
I was going to go for the free for all, but I wa surprised to learn (as many others have said) that people like being told where to sit. Who knew? I thought it was sort of bridezilla-ish to make people sit somewhere? I think we’re planning on doing escort cards now, because a seating chart would make me feel to demanding. This software would really help!
I’m not sure what the difference is between escort cards and seating cards, but I think we’re going to have a tiny envelope for each person with their table number on a card inside. Then they can sit wherever they want at the table.
We will be using skeleton keys tied with blue ribbon and a note with their name and table. Our guests will later use this key to select which charity they would like to donate to (instead of favors). They will hang their key on one of six pegs for the six different non profits we have chosen.
