Perfect Table Plan Software Giveaway

May 15th, 2008 @ 5:25 pm by Contests

Congratulations to  winners msange, becky, SKM, Cyd, and msbutton!

~~~
Some of the bees were given the Perfect TablePlan software to test out and they all loved it so much, I asked Perfect Table to donate a couple of copies for a giveaway!
Planning seating usually turns out to be a lot more difficult than you might expect.  But Perfect TablePlan makes it super easy with features that help you manage your RSVPs and meal choices, experiment with different table shapes and sizes, automatically assign guests according to who they want to sit next to (or not next to), and the ability to print your floor plan, seating chart and place cards.
We have 5 copies of this Mac & Windows compatible software to give away today!  To enter, please comment below and tell us how you’re handling the seating at your wedding — escort cards, placecards, table cards, seating chart, free for all?
You have until 8pm EST Thursday evening to enter.  Good luck! :)
We’re going to do table cards, but this would be such an amazing tool to help us since we have no idea where to start!! We are going to have about 250 people too, so we need the organization!
2.
cookiechristina says:
We’re planning on letting guests know what tables they are at and letting them seat themselves - however I don’t know too many of the guests on his family’s side so this would help immensely!
3.
MsAnge says:
Ooooooooh, I would LOVE this! I’m currently planning on doing escort cards - get everyone to the right table but then let them choose who to sit by. I don’t need to dictate EVERYTHING about the wedding, right?
4.
alicia says:
i woud loooove this
5.
furelysse says:
We’re having escort cards.
6.
ynichole says:
We’re going to use table cards and let guests arrange themselves at their table.
7.
AOEBuckeye says:
We’re doing table cards. This program sounds amazing!!
8.
Becky says:
We had been leaning toward having a free for all until we heard from a significant number of our friends how much they like being told what table to sit at. It eliminates any possibility of accidentally taking grandma’s seat! ;-) So we are doing escort cards. I’m kind of afraid of trying to organize who will be sitting where, since we are having about 200 guests. It’s a little overwhelming!
Anyway, I hope I win, because this software sounds amazing!
9.
Vivian says:
We’re doing fortune cookie escort cards!
10.
Monica says:
A seating chart displayed as the guests walk in with names in alphabetical order and their table # next to their name.
11.
Idared says:
We are having an outdoor tent wedding, so I won’t be 100% sure of how the tables are going to be arranged until everything is set up! There are sure to be last minute changes, and it seems like this software would really help deal with that.
12.
Sonya Song says:
Ahhh, we don’t even have any form of organizing our seating, so this would be great! Especially for my mac!!
13.
july09bride says:
That program would be a lifesaver! We are planning on doing escort cards so that they can still pick their seat, but we pick the table they set at - too much family drama have to make sure everyone is seated with the right people! :)
14.
becca8908 says:
We’re doing escort cards that will be designed by the same folks who are doing our invites and menus. And we are inviting over 400 guests, so I know this will be a big job!
15.
Y. says:
We’re doing place cards. This program would be so helpful!
16.
jj2980 says:
This would be so helpful in getting everyone arranged. What is the old school way of doing seating charts?
17.
jenjen08 says:
We’re doing escort cards to direct people to the appropriate table. This would be so helpful since seating is one of those last minute tasks you can’t complete until the RSVPs are in
18.
ambrosia says:
God - I wanted a free for all just because I didn’t want another DIY project. But so is life, it’s totally not going to work - We’ll have to add 2 tables to make sure there is enough places for everyone and because I’m paying extra for table clothes I just can’t do it. So I need help! How do you get the perfect mix? Friends from different points of life, my family and his family. I’m really dreading this. That aside, I did find some super cute ideas for Escort Cards… tooth picks, moss and some great fonts.
19.
HeatherB says:
I need this so badly. Its up in the air right now. I’m making table numbers currently, and we’re either doing escort cards or a seating chart. I think the chart would be easier, but the cards will be cuter… decisions decisions.
20.
ljlkclark says:
I’m doing escort votives to get people to their tables and then menus doubling as seating cards. This software would help *so much* in figuring out who goes where!!!
21.
kerac says:
Oh, this would be fantastic! I’m already stressing about how to manage our guest list when assigned table/seats, and this would be a huge help (plus my techie fiance would probably be more interested if there was some cool software to work with). This would be incredibly helpful!
22.
Darlene says:
We’re doinging escort cards… and it’s almost time to start figuring out everyone’s tables!
23.
twomayflies says:
escort cards… and rsvps are rolling in!
24.
blushingaudrey says:
Ooh, I would love this… we are doing escort cards, plus favors with names on them in lieu of seating cards). Our tables will be names after important dates in our life, with cards identifying them.
25.
Kate says:
We are going to do escort cards; and to figure our where everyone goes a LARGE poster board (for us of course!)! (with about 240 people it might take a while!) :0)
26.
AliCherri1 says:
We’re definitely doing assigned seats, I’ve been to too many free for all weddings = no bueno.
We’re going to have a framed list of names and assigned tables as the guest come in w/ another framed diagram of were the tables are located. Then at each table we will put their name cards :)
So, this software would come in REALLY handy :)
27.
obxbride says:
Yeah! This looks amazing! We are using a framed seating chart that assigns tables and putting placecards at each seat. We wanted to take the stress away from the guests so this way no way will need to sprint to their table for a “good” seat.
28.
MissMandy says:
Ooh, this would be great to have for all our last minute prep!
Fun!
29.
suzanno says:
Okay, I give. I was just going to let everybody sit where they want, but if I win the software I will assign seating and make escort cards and print a seating plan. You got me. Plus I’m getting nervous and I guess I just need another project to take my mind off things.
30.
AKline says:
please please please….
31.
jenny says:
PLEASE!!! We’re doing spreadsheets!!
32.
SKM says:
I’m planning to assign tables but not seats. And I NEEEEEED this software :)
33.
oddz says:
Me like a copy. We are doing place cards held with mini brown bear and pink pig.
34.
Jaime says:
This would be great. I just sent out my invitations!
35.
Deonise says:
Ooh, this would make my live easier. I’m currently maintaining all my lists in Excel.
36.
Michele A says:
We’re doing table cards and letting everyone pick their own seats at the table.
37.
angiepangie says:
We’re doing escort cards and maybe placecards depending on how organized I am closer to the date and my level of craziness
38.
Val says:
I’m using escort cards. This would be so helpful!
39.
camilla says:
We’ll do either escort cards or a seating chart/plan. There’s some family drama so the challenge will be seating certain people far enough from each other without demoting any of them by putting them off in the corner. YIKES - we have our work cut out for us!
40.
msgirard says:
We will probably do a seating chart as the guests walk into the room or place cards ??????
41.
Squishy622 says:
Escort cards…the timing is perfect for this, I just tried sitting down with everyone’s names on post-its and got too frustrated!
42.
jesse says:
I want to do escort cards and let guests decide from there, but my fiance wants to do something “different.” He hasn’t informed me yet what his plan is…This program would help either way!
43.
lotuslover says:
This is awesome. We’re doing escort cards.
44.
Karianne says:
placecards and tablecards
45.
eveline says:
we are doing table cards. i haven’t gotten to the seating arrangements yet but this would definitely help me so much. i need some organization tools…..please pick me!
46.
tx bride says:
table cards - this would be so helpful!
47.
Nicole says:
I would love to use this software to organize our 212 guest seating plan! We are assigning tables, not seats, with escort cards. The tables will have empty bottles of wine that we’ve drank together and saved, and be named by the name of the wine. Guests will receive the name of their table on an escort card held in a wine cork, also saved from our actual use! We have rectangle and round tables seating different numbers so this will be quite the project!
48.
Mr.angiepangie says:
We’re doing escort cards and placecards and maybe more if we get this really helpful piece of software. Thanks.
49.
murphinelli says:
When I was married in August I used Escort Cards. Doing the seating chart was so difficult. My sister is getting married next year and I’ll be heavily involved, since she will be very busy with a 1 year old! It would be great to have this software to take some stress out of her life. For her wedding, we will most likely use escort cards again, with no seating chart.
50.
Jill says:
We are either doing escort cards or a seating chart and this would definitely help out so much!
51.
Michelle S says:
This would make life easier!
52.
Natakie16 says:
I think we will be doing place cards since they are some people who need specific seats :)
53.
ErinMarieMack says:
We are doing escort cards as it is another chance to use our monogram and I got cute mini photo frames from the knot.com wedding shop to place them in, which will double as favors. Guests are seating at tables with horses’ names from the KY Derby from the year we met. I would LOVE this program, because up until a month ago, FI wanted no seating plan! Now that he has seen the light, I know the arranging could be stressful and this would definitely help:)
54.
Carrie says:
Escort cards…but this program would be perfect!
55.
pattyb says:
Escort cards- people can choose where they want to sit after they are “lead” to one of our lovely tables with a lake theme. But oh how this software would take away some of the pain of organizing….
56.
Dana says:
We’re doing escort cards on little tins of herbs that we’re putting together, so they’ll double up as favors. We have a really unique space to plan, so this program would be the tops!
57.
jennyk says:
I’ve heard so many nightmares about planning the seating arrangement that I’m scared! For guests, it can make or break their wedding experience. Who hasn’t gotten stuck sitting next to someone and you ask yourself, “What were they thinking putting me here?” We’re doing escort cards I have a growing list of do’s and don’ts next to each person so we can appropriate determine where everyone should sit. This program seems like a winner to me!
58.
rosychicklet says:
I wish I could just do free-for-all, but our venue requires assigned seating. I’m just having the table assignments printed on nice paper and framed- no place cards, not escort cards.
59.
Jessica Lynn says:
i am going to do a seating chart board…two of them…which will be placed in 2 different places during the cocktail hour so guest have plenty of time to figure out where they are sitting before they enter the reception hall. crossing my fingers that i win….
60.
JeniRae says:
While our venue tried to pressure us into a ‘free for all’, we know better. It would be chaos with 325 people who don’t know where to sit, at a mix of round and rectangular tables! Yikes!
61.
Deb says:
I would love to have this. I’m doing escort cards, not sure about place cards yet. But it’s a thought back there along with the million other wedding things. This program looks awesome. And Mac compatible? Who could ask for more!!!
62.
bethann says:
We’ll be doing escort cards since I know I hate not having an assigned seat at weddings….I usually end up by people I don’t know in the back corner.
63.
Amber says:
Escort Cards it will be! This would be a great tool to use though to stay organized :)
64.
melodicsighs says:
i want to do escort cards that tell just the table… possibly have seating cards at the table then.
i have no idea how to even begin though.
this software would be perfect.
65.
tberry says:
This would be so wonderful. Since some of my dad’s seven siblings don’t speak to each other, my parents are divorced, and a bunch of my FI’s drinking friends and my Mom’s almost completly dry family seating is going to be a nightmare!
66.
lynn says:
I actually took measurements of the banquet space and made floor plans with AutoCad. I have my tables layout set but I have no ideashow the caterer needs to set up..
Im not havinga sit down dinner but I will have 10 tables/cocktail tables
67.
cricketpe says:
I’m thinking table cards right now, but we haven’t decided for sure yet.
68.
Erin says:
we have to do place cards, not all family members are getting along, so I am going crazy, The seating has changed countless time, and I am freaking out, this would be so helpful!!!
69.
Cassandra Brown says:
I love the idea of putting the names on smooth river rocks and then placing them in sand or on a plate of sod. Organising these, however, would be helped out greatly by this software. I’ve heard nothing but praise for it!
70.
Stephanie says:
As of right now, we’re just doing “free for all”. As of right now, my tables are all laid out in autocad. But this software would be so helpful, since it manages RSVPs, etc.!
71.
loves-a-limey says:
Place cards at banquet tables and possibly a large chart in the entrance hall to help people navigate?
72.
Dimples says:
Place cards using wine works!
73.
Marla says:
We are doing an enormous seating chart with personal escorts for “older” couples - it’s always been a traditional way of seating at weddings for my family.
74.
TaraG says:
This would save my life!
75.
Jamie says:
We’re doing a seating chart and placecards at the table.
76.
sb says:
escort cards
77.
missm says:
To assign or not to assign… that is the question with which we struggle. Originally, I was thinking a free-for-all, as we’ve got a small wedding. However, we’ve got a mix of people with a few singles thrown in to complicate things, so we’re now going with table assignments. So, probably escort cards?? Obviously, I need some help!
:)
78.
Alli D says:
Cute escort cards on a table!
79.
Laura says:
escort cards!!
80.
haliwood says:
How incredibly helpful would this be?? Just the thought of seating rubs me the wrong way :S
81.
meridith says:
this would end every headache I had!
82.
Kim says:
We’re going to do table cards, but this would be so helpful! We are going to have about 250 people too, so we need the organization.
83.
birdie says:
This would be a great tool! We are doing escort cards / assigned tables.
84.
Kim says:
Place cards since all of our guests will be receiving a unique favor tailored to them.
85.
VanGal says:
Definitely a seating chart but we’re thinking about hanging placecards on the back of each chair.
86.
fmcin2008 says:
I wanted a free for all and even told family that there would be a fish bowl at the entrance and you had to pick. Couples may be split up. Some didn’t get the joke and were a bit freaked out. We are doing table cards and then our guests can figure out where to sit from there.
87.
NoveBride08 says:
escort cards
88.
VisionaryBride says:
I was only going to do escort cards, but my caterer is demanding that I choose seating and have placecards at each seat indicating the person’s name and their entree order. *Sigh*
89.
yiska says:
This would be pretty cool to have.
90.
soontobemrsc says:
We are doing escort cards! We will also have a chart displaying location of tables since they will have names instead of numbers. This program would help out tons! :-)
91.
StrawberryBaby says:
Wow! Looks great! Would LOVE the help! Am planning doing escort cards and a poster as well.
92.
theredpen says:
We’re probably using place cards.
93.
jenn says:
i’m going to use table cards. this is exactly what i need. with 350+ guests, this would be a definite lifesaver!
94.
kthomps3 says:
Escort cards & table cards. I really hope I win this!
95.
yiska says:
Oops, I didn’t say how I was planning on doing seating. Place card! :) I hope this doesn’t disqualify me–I don’t know how to delete my previous comment.
96.
melissa says:
we’re doing placecards tucked into ribbon on a board
97.
122LOVESME says:
Of course this would be helpful…but talk about fun too! Think of the options!! We are planning to do escort cards…maybe placecards, not sure yet. I’m hoping to do a “sea to sky” theme (my fiance works on planes in the Navy, and my family loves to sail)…probably some paper airplanes for half the guests and paper boats for the other half.
98.
reese says:
I don’t know how I’m going to organize! I think I might do both though…now to attack this problem…with the help of that program possibly?
99.
Caroline says:
table cards, escort cards and i’m contemplating having customized menus so that the seats are assigned… all depends on how much work i want to take on! this software would be of amazing help…
100.
LisaL says:
Escort cards. I’m thinking the table “numbers” will be sites in our city. This software will definitely help plan our 250 guest wedding.
101.
SMO says:
We are going to do escort cards and assign people to tables. This software looks soooo helpful!
102.
SBH says:
We’re having a seated buffet!! The guests will be seated at assigned seats (placecards) at assigned tables (table numbers). We’re using a seating chart, rather than escort cards to help guest find their seats.
But the beauty of a seated buffet is that we don’t have to worry about meal choices - everyone can pick what they like! Yay!
My RSVP date is May 23rd, so I’m about to be neck deep in seating assignments. This software would be terribly useful for me. I hope I’m a winner!
103.
hayley2themax says:
i NEED this! we are doing assigned with table cards and place cards and we have to be very careful, if you know what i mean!!!
104.
jordash99 says:
I would love this program, so cool!
105.
caulner says:
Our plan is to assign people to tables, but other than that, we have no idea! We have family from South Dakota, rural Vermont, Philly and Princeton. We have people from age 80 to age 14, and disparate groups of college friends (I went to Wellesley, he went to Princeton). Then we add that my parents are divorced, his father is deceased and we have lots of siblings, and we have no idea where everyone will best fit! The wedding is a little over four months away, and now that I’m starting to think about it, this is going to be a daunting task.
106.
Audrey says:
We are doing escort cards, but with 200 people, we will let them choose their own seats once they find their tables. But, our venue has 3 different sizes of tables that we have to configure to fit everyone, so this software would be a lifesaver!
107.
MandyRose says:
So far I’ve done everything wedding on my computer, but I hadn’t figured out how to do the seating chart on there. I don’t have the budget for software (already spent it all on my invite budget…oops), so this would be super handy!!
108.
turtle says:
Escort cards! THIS WOULD BE A HUGE HELP!!
109.
Ada says:
Oh my gosh, this would be SO helpful to me!! Please pick me!
110.
Ada says:
oops forgot to say I’m assigning people to tables, but letting them pick where they want to sit at the table
111.
Angela says:
Oooh, oooh, oooh- ME!
112.
ShirleyH says:
I’m currently using good ol’ excel for everything, but this software would help immensely.
113.
Dana says:
We are assinging tables, but not seats!
114.
KatieB says:
We will be doing escort cards. Because our reception is at a brewery I was thinking of having coasters with everyone’s names.
115.
hbowar says:
We are planning a “free for all” but if I won this, I would need to re-think that! :)
116.
Nstar says:
Escort cards, this would be totally helpful!
117.
jmochi says:
maybe today will finally be my lucky day… please please please please oh random number generator… have no idea how i will plan seating yet actually. give me motivation! =)
118.
Joanne says:
ooooh! this would be so helpful and fun to use to place 300 people!
119.
academicsocialite says:
After recently attending a wedding with free-for-all seating, I’m definitely going with assigned tables with escort cards, but not assigned seats. I’m actually looking forward to grouping people together - family who won’t have been together for a wedding in years, college friends, my best friends from camp, etc. I think it might be fun to pair people together, but this software would make my life easier in terms of people who don’t fit into any obvious group. What a great idea!
120.
Michelle says:
We’re planning to use place cards, but I must say it’s not always easy to figure out exactly where to put different couples, singles, and groups. This software would certainly help out my mess of papers with arrows and scratched out names!
121.
jane says:
we’re having table cards. using just plain word
122.
Lillindy says:
Escort cards and with over 200 people this would make my life so much easier!
123.
Kate says:
We are doing escort cards that will double as name tags. They will get our guests to the correct table, and help the families remember each others names.
124.
Heather says:
Place Cards. UGH!
125.
Katie says:
Pretty sure we’ll have a chart but also some kind of card!
126.
Emily says:
I’m doing escort cards and place cards - started working on them the other day and I’m already getting overwhelmed!
127.
Amanda says:
we are using escort cards to assign the tables. i bought plain white ones from papersource and am stamping them with a green leaf design. the software would be amazingly helpful!
128.
phatty7 says:
I have no idea! haha…I am the most unorganized person. We are going to have some sort of card that will guide the guest to their table, then it is a free for all at the table.
129.
frogs129 says:
I wanted to do a free for all but with 148 guests that would be a little too crazy. So instead we’re doing table cards and place cards. Hopefully it will go smoothly!
130.
Joanne says:
oh i forgot to mention. i’m doing escort cards.
131.
ncartell says:
Oh PLEASE save my sanity!
We’re doing place cards color-coded according to meal choice! And its our venue’s first wedding…ever. Anything that will make this easier is a blessing!
132.
shelli says:
I so need this right now, please pick me!!
133.
Rebecca says:
Oh, WOW. I am so excited that something like this exists. Whenever I think of seating arrangements, I envision spending hours on a mock-up with little red and blue flags like Monica on Friends did. We’re going to do table cards, but haven’t quite gotten to that stage yet.
134.
karasue says:
We are using escort cards. But it is a restaurant with tables of all different sizes, so I think it is going to be a challenge!
135.
Quyen says:
We are having escort cards…=)
136.
clq1976 says:
I’d totally do a free for all, but know it would turn into a complete disaster, so escort cards it is for us!
137.
Muriel says:
Please let me win…my wedding is next Sunday and I could definitely use this in the next couple of days!!!
138.
Jess says:
This would be great! I’m doing a seating chart since I’ve never really liked the free-for-all approach.
139.
keep says:
My wedding is in 9 days and I am using post- its to decide who is sitting where. I would love to use a table chart but considering we are down to the wire — escort cards it is. This program would help immensely!!!!
140.
bree says:
I would love to use this for my friends wedding. Floor plan on an L and U shaped room is proving to be difficult!
141.
stefiv says:
This would definitely take the stress off of figuring out where to put 200 people for me!
142.
BC says:
We are using table cards - then the people can sit where they want at their assigned table.
143.
nancy says:
I’m early in my planning and haven’t decided what we’re doing about table assignments, but I know we won’t be doing a free-for-all, so this software would definitely come in handy!
144.
NikkiStarr says:
I’m still trying to figure out how I will be handeling seating. I’m leaning towards family groupings with escort cards. This program seems too good to be true :)
145.
Junage says:
My FI and I have been tossing around fun table naming conventions - movies, tv shows, sports teams. We want to use escort cards but figured putting the tv character’s name on it as a way to find the table with the tv show might be a bit too much.
146.
nikkinicole says:
my computer geek FI and i would LOVE this tool! so far our personal wedding wiki and many, many spreadsheets have been our planning tools of choice– this would be a great one to add to the collection!
147.
Caroline says:
Oh, this would be wonderful! I think we’re going with just escort cards, but my parents are divorced, and not amicably, so it would be incredibly useful to have something help me keep track of who not to sit near whom.
148.
missrae says:
i am doing it all - table plan, escort cards, table numbers, personalized menus with a welcome note, seat cards. i am a design and paper fanatic, and it’s important to me that the look and feel of our wedding is carried out through the table.
i’m also working with a catering vendor at the beach that’s a little… not detail oriented so i definitely need to be able to share a diagram of how things should be set up so there’s no miscommunication!
149.
nikkinicole says:
oh and we are just planning on using post it notes to figure out seating! ack…
150.
KP says:
We are doing escort cards and table cards named after movies since the reception will be held in a movie studio. After all the stress of the invites and our ever expanding guest list, this software might just keep me from going over the edge:)
151.
emmeeay-l says:
not handling at all set so I CERTAINLY need this!
*fingers crossed*
152.
Abigail says:
this would be awesome! we are having assigned seating with place cards for about 300 people and 30 tables. This tool would be an awesome addition to the wedding planning. I know my FI would enjoy working with it. he loves what he can do on the computer for the wedding.
it’s perfect timing b/c i’m sending out the invitations Friday!!! RSVPs will be rolling in!
153.
ErinSea says:
we’re doing escort cards/favors in the form of potted herbs with a little brass stake with guest and table names. I haven’t even begun the seating chart though, I know this software would help immensely!
154.
Michele says:
I’ll probably do an escort card…although at this point I haven’t done any planning for this so it may become free for all…!
155.
lil9cc says:
I haven’t decided yet. Most likely a seating chart framed and table cards. But that is why I need help!!
156.
Lisa~ says:
I’m doing placecards, and this software would help me so much!!!
157.
nyemamaria says:
This would make my life so much easier!
158.
Becky says:
We’re doing table assignments but then letting people pick where at the table they want to sit. We’ve got 160 people coming, so Perfect Table Plan would be a lifesaver!
159.
august2008bridetobe says:
We plan to do escort cards and would definitely also add a table chart with this software. We are inviting 380 people so we need all the help we can get! I would love to use this software!
We are having a free for all at the moment, but due to some last minute guest list add-ons, I think I could really use this program to help come up with a detailed arrangement.
Jess says:
We are still struggling with this. We are going to need to do a seating chart to assign tables but I don’t think we’re going to assign specific seats at the tables unless there are more diplomatic issues than what we foresee at the moment. And I’m hoping to find the time to write every guest a personal note on their escort card. But we’ll see about that in the few weeks leading up to the wedding!
We are going to do favor boxes with labels on them. Each box is going to have a piece of candy and that candy is going to be the name of a table.
