Bachelorette Surprise!

May 19th, 2008 @ 4:10 pm by Mrs. Toucan

On Saturday, the girls threw me a fabulous surprise bachelorette party! They had planned out a full day, and all I knew was what day, and what time we started! I’m not gonna lie - I was a little nervous about what they had in store for me!

The party started off nice and tame when the girls took me out for a little pampering at Nami Spa.

After a massage and manicure, we heading back to my apartment for snacks and other refreshments…

How many girls does it take to open a bottle of wine? Three.
(We’re in the process of moving, so the corkscrew was already packed,
and we had to use the screw on a utility knife).

After some food and wine, we headed off to our next destination… Gypsy Rose Exotic and Pole Dancing Lessons.

I’m not going to lie. This was my FAVORITE part of the day. I learned that I probably will never make it as an exotic pole dancer (and I have a big ol’ shin bruise to prove it). However, trying to swing around a pole while dressed in crazy ho-ish outfits is KRAZY fun (yes, krazy with a ‘k’ fun).

Umm… yeah. Scandalous.
…and lucky for us the camera died before the pole swinging started.

After a 1.5 hour lesson, I managed to learn how to swing around a pole a couple of ways, but I couldn’t figure out how to get off the floor sexy. Oh well. I guess I’ll stick to my day job. :)

Next, it’s off to the bar (which was pretty tame given the class we just took…)!

Notice the girls made me don bachelorette gear. :)

And finally, how all good nights end…

With street food! yum! Pizza and a steak and cheese sub!

Thanks, ladies, for a fabulous night!!! :)

I was glad that I was left in the dark, and that everything was a surprise for me. I think it made the night more fun! Would you let your ladies plan a bachelorette party without you knowing any of the details?

How scandalous! ;)

My bridesmaids, spearheaded by my MOH, are conspiring behind my back, and I love it! With all the wedding planning, it’s nice to have someone else planning the bachelorette party.

Oh that looks like so much fun!!!! I’m glad you had a blast as that’s how all bachelorette parties should be! My sister and bridal party planned my entire bachelorette party without me having a clue…I was told where to meet the morning of, but everything was a surprise and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way! With the stress of planning a wedding, it was nice to not have to worry about anything, even if just for one day!

HOW FUN!!!!!!!!!!

I love surprises but not when it’s with me. I was awful as a surprise guest of honor. So I let them plan but I threw ideas. I was very sneaky to find out about the surprises. But that didn’t stop my bp they did threw in a few more surprises. It was fun when I didn’t butt in.

My MOH was planning a “destination” girls weekend 2 weeks before the wedding and it would’ve been so stressful for me, rather than the fun she thought it would be. I went along with it for a while, but then realized that if I didn’t speak up and say something, I would regret it. I felt bad bc I know they want things to be a surprise, but wouldn’t they rather me have fun then be stressed out the whole time?

So much fun! A friend is doing the pole dancing for a BP - I will let her know. And yup, my MOH is planning my BP without any input from me. I know it will be a destination as no on lives here! The closest friend is in upstate NY!

Toucan, I think I recognize the bar you went to; if I’m right, your girls have great taste!

I was in Boston on Sat taking e-pics, and I saw soo many bachelorette parties. Makes me really excited for my own!

Wow, what a bachelorette party!!! Yeah, I would totally let my girlfriends plan something without me knowing a single detail, it’s much more fun that way!

We’re going to the Gypsy Rose for my b-party in a few weeks! I can’t wait!

Trebuchet says:

@Miss Toucan: Yep, I thought so! We actually had dinner there with our photographer/friend after our session that day, but I saw most of the bachelorette parties in the North End when we went to Improv Asylum.

Your bachelorette looked like so much fun! Yay for the pole dancing lessons- that looks like a blast!

Oooh no no no I would definitely not let my girls plan the bachelorette for me- there has already been entirely too much talk of male strip clubs for my comfort & I know that if I let it be planned without my input, weiners would end up being waved & I’d have to leave my own party.

No way, I’m way too controlling for that! Glad you had fun :)
