Photobooth!

May 19th, 2008 @ 5:35 pm by Mrs. Cream Puff

I must be evolving. Over the weekend, I managed to delegate three things. I delegated two of them to my wonderful mother. First, I asked her to deal with the tent-for-the-ceremony-musicians issue (which she has already taken care of!). Second, I asked her to ask her rabbi (as I do not have a relationship with one where I live) to help me figure out some inter-faith wording for our ketubah. I then asked Mr. Cream Puff to get us a basket of disguises for the photobooth. I cannot believe it did not even OCCUR to me to ask Mr. Cream Puff to deal with the photobooth rental. He totally would have done it, and it didn’t even occur to me. I’m a weirdo.

Anyway, the photobooth situation is completely taken care of, deposit down and everything. Apparently they were very busy for a couple of weeks, and that was why I couldn’t get through to them. We are going with Party Booths–their booths look great and they were the only option I could find for under $1000. We decided to have it for our entire reception, which will be 5 hours…so we’ll be paying $1045 for the whole thing. It’s still a ton of money, but I think it will be worth it.

It seems like everyone is doing a photobooth these days…mostly because they are super awesome. I don’t remember where I first heard about people having photobooths, but I quickly forgot about it because of the price tag. A few months later, however, I saw the results of Mrs. Hibiscus’ Photobooth and immediately wanted one again, especially after I saw her props. We have a ton of disguses left over from the proposal, and it would be a fun way to look back on the proposal. We also have plans to take a few of our professional posed shots with disguises on. :)Overall, I would say that I am feeling MUCH better about all of the stress last week. Thanks so much for your supportive comments. You guys are the best!

My best friend is getting married this coming weekend. She looked into photo booths, but decided to get something called Canditto which will give her pictures of her entire event .

sigh…your proposal story is the sweetest.

It’s not easy to let go & delegate. I’m glad you started doing it.

Hi Miss Cream Puff! We’re using the Secular text, and we’re ordering our ketubah from newketubah.com. I love the text; it suits us perfectly.

A friend of mine used Partybooths for their wedding and it was the biggest hit! She had silly props for us to use with stick heads that she made of herself and the groom. The great thing about Partybooths is that the booth is so much bigger than a traditional booth. :D Great choice!

What kind of disguises? Would you be willing to sell them for me to use in my photobooth? :)

We are using Party booth as well! They have been really easy to work with and I can’t wait to see the final product!! I also love that there is an online gallery that everyone can look at.

We used Partybooths for our March wedding this year and they did a FANTASTIC job. I was super happy with them. The booth attendent was really nice and we had our CD of pictures in about 3 weeks after the wedding. Our guests LOVED it! I went to the party store and bought a couple of cute little colored leis, 2 boas, 2 sets of silly glasses, and some cute cat masks and people had a blast using them. Definaitly the best investment we made for our wedding. My mom who was a big doubter on this and made me wait until two weeks before the wedding to book it was amazed how it was full every minute it was open. Our only mistake was only having a 3 hour package in retrospect I wish we had done 4 or 5 hours.
