Two Veil Bride

May 20th, 2008 @ 8:27 am by Miss Cookie

According to my veil designer Sara Gabriel, the bridal trend currently is to have a veil for the ceremony and one for the reception. I really wanted a more classic veil for the ceremony, but I love the look of French netting. So, I decided to buy a French netting piece for the reception.

I love it. It reminds me of old, Hollywood with the flower in the middle combined with British Ascot in the feathers. (I secretly long to be British!)

I know there are many two dress brides out there.  Are there any two veil brides?

I’m sort of a two veil bride. My veil has two layers, a cathedral length and a shoulder length. I will be removing the cathedral length when I tire of it then the shoulder length will be on for the rest of the night (and maybe into the next morning!)

i’ve been kicking this back and forth for a while……i absolutely love cage veils, fascinators, and french netting….but i still wanted a traditional look at the ceremony. so i’m getting a fingertip veil for that……BUT if i can find or piece together one for a bargain price, i may rock some netting or a fascinator at my reception…..

I’m a two hair piece bride … I have a veil for the ceremony and then a piece to put in my hair when I change dresses.

I’m not sure yet as I have not selected my veil. But it’s a good idea.
I love the one on the picture and i will probably be very practical for the reception on top of being beautiful.

Me, too! I’m doing traditional for the ceremony–probably a drop veil–and then a birdcage for the reception.

I only have one cathedral length veil for the ceremony, but I LOVE your second veil! It is so cute and looks great on you and with your dress.

Im really considering it…. because a birdcage veil would be so perfect for my vintage theme. I just dont want to splurge on that! We will see…
It looks great on you by the way! :D

I’m seriously considering this… I love birdcage veils but am afraid I will miss that feeling of “OMG I’m a bride!” if I don’t wear a traditional veil. This best of both worlds might be the answer!

I’m also doing train length veil for the cermony, but changing into a small birdcage veil for the reception. I found a very pretty & VERY inexpensive feather ‘fascinator’ at JoAnn’s that I’ll attach to the top of the french netting. It looks perfect! Traditional for the ceremony & a fun little vintage kick for the reception. :)

I bought an elbow length veil because my mom made me. I’m also having a birdcage veil made. I’m either doing the long one for the ceremony and birdcage at the reception or just the birdcage.

I have a cathedral veil for the ceremony and then a super cute birdcage veil for the reception!! Didn’t know if I would be cool enough to pull off the birdcage veil, but what the heck I’m going for it!

I have a long (not quite cathedral) veil for my wedding. It’s ouside and totally impractical, but SO pretty. Because the veil is too long to wear at the reception, my FI’s mother is bringing me a feather/veil thingy from england. I am excited to wear both!

@ankile: Ok, very jealous! I lived in London and I love all things British — especially the hats!

Ooh, I love it! If only it went with my overall look, I would certainly be getting one of those babies!
