Centerpiece Ransom Note

May 21st, 2008 @ 8:29 am by Mrs. Lovebug

Since we’re still waiting for the files of our professional photos to arrive, I’m pretty much sending Mr. Lovebug to the mailbox hourly. Today he returned with a manila envelope in hand, and I about broke my ankle jumping out of my chair in excitement.

Alas, it wasn’t our files - but it was something I have to share, all the same…

At the end of the reception, it was a grab fest for our silver plate centerpieces (the flowers really were gorgeous - hopefully I’ll be able to show you this week). Some of the vases/teapots/buckets have been retrieved from our friends, and some are still floating around town.

Well, just check out what was in the manilla envelope:

(The Cactus Moon is a super cheesy-but-fun country bar we all go to every so often.)

Um, ok. When I saw all of this, my jaw fell open and didn’t close for about ten minutes. It’s from our friends Mike and Molly (though they mailed it from his office at the newspaper) - that’s Mike in the face mask. How absolutely freakin’ hilarious are they? Seriously. This is ridiculous.

Just had to share. Miss all of you like cuh-ray-zee.

What fun! I had some friends who used ransom notes as wedding invitations. Wish I could remember the clever wording, but it involved something like “show up at X place at Y time, and bring your joy and good wishes.” Amazingly, they actually cut and pasted each word — thank heavens it was a small wedding!!

P.S. WE are anxiously awaiting your photos as well…. ;)

Hilarious. I hope my friends are this creative when I get around to this kind of stuff.

You should go and say “put down the vase, and NOBODY will get hurt” Maybe get one of those western sheriff mustaches and a badge for good measure.

Cactus Moon’s the most class drop-off! Way cooler than say, a bus depot. It’ll be my ransom go-to point from now on fo’ sure.
