While I think that SO many things from the first bio was beautiful, I just don’t get the veil. How do you not regret that in a few years? It was in EVERY shot!

2.
Buffalo Wedding Cakes says:

Beautiful dresses. However I have never seen everyone in white. Are those brides maid dresses white?

3.
Jayne says:

I love the details of the first bio, especially the lighting, but I agree, that veil with her hair down is not the best combo. How did the cake collapse??

4.
jen says:

I think her veil is fab! I’ve never seen anything like it. It looked great on her.

5.
mrsbic says:

the veil reminded me of what Melania Trump wore at her wedding–I have never seen anything like it–she seemed to carry it off really well–couldn’t have done that myself!

6.
missm says:

The veil is certainly a bold move. It was a bit distracting in the photos, but she looked like she was having a good time and did keep it on all night, so at least she worked it. Not my style, but certainly striking.

sillyinphilly says:

these bios were both great and really different moods. i kinda loved the veil in the first one, but don’t know if i would have kept it on after the ceremony. but, i did think it was dramatic and beautiful (and made for some great portraits).

8.
CC says:

I can’t tell which one is the bride in the first photo!! lol

9.
design-phan says:

I love the veil. It makes the portraits look very high-fashion. I don’t think we should worry TOO much about what we’ll think 5, 10, or 25 years from now. There’s enough to worry about without that kind of pressure!

Miss Gingerbread says:

Great choices! I love the juxtaposition of these two weddings. Both of their dresses are beautiful. wittliz’s dress is classic and the veil is fun. mrsopie’s black and white dress is stunning!

L J says:

Finally, pictures of a beautiful bride in glasses!!! There have to be more of them out there, but the pictures seem to be rare. How refreshing!!

12.
V says:

In that first picture…who’s the bride?????
what an odd choice :s

13.
V says:

ooooh, THAT’S the veil??? lol…I thought it was a piece of sky!!! lol

I am not sure about the negative critiques. They are a little too reminiscent of that *other* wedding site for my taste. Weddingbee is great because it is so helpful and has an overall positive attitude towards brides and their personal/unique touches to their wedding day.

Thanks for sharing the bios and the beautiful details!

mascott25 says:

Ms. Radish, thanks for finding two such beautiful and unique weddings. I love the details. So refreshing.

amysue says:

i think the veil is amazing. not my style at all, but she pulled it off really well. i thought all the white and black gave it a really modern look against such a historic backdrop. very cool.

Nicole says:

I think the bridesmaids in white is really unique and kind of refreshing! I’d hope that anyone present at the wedding would know the bride. Kudos to her for a brave choice and for not banning everyone else from wearing white. Jeez, louise- it’s 2008, people.

meg83yip says:

Interesting… I will NEVER go with all white for my BMs, understand it’s 2008, but some traditions just are better kept as the way they are… ha, who am I to judge?

19.
December says:

Actually, all-white weddings are traditional. They are called snowball weddings.

20.
Jenny says:

I saw the staircase picture for the second bio and thought, “that looks just like the staircase at work” then I saw the location is Salt Lake City and realized that that IS the staircase at my work! Thanks for choosing a bio from my hometown/place of employment, Mrs. Bird of Paradise.

Marissa says:

“I will NEVER go with all white for my BMs, understand it’s 2008, but some traditions just are better kept as the way they are”

Actually, bridesmaids were originally supposed to dress like the bride to confuse evil spirits….so the all white wedding is traditional.

22.
Lara @ southern wedding style says:

We just featured Liz’s wedding on our blog and will be publishing it in our next issue! She is such a stylish bride and a gracious person. And Marissa is right–bridesmaids were originally there to fend off evil suitors and confuse them. Such a funny history, right?

23.
csiegs says:

wow, just wow. i think the veil, while not *my* choice, is absolutely fabulous on this bride. She definitely pulls it off.

Does anyone know where I can find the necklace that this bride (wittliz) is wearing in the beach shots? It is *exactly* what I am looking for… I would love similar earrings too. I want chunks of small pearls in 4″ drops!

24.
just sayin' says:

what negative critiques???

25.
Indigo says:

How do you contact a Knottie? I loved the letterpressed invites that wittliz did for her wedding and in her bio she says that she may do it as a side business. If anyone knows how to contact her, please post. I thought her wedding was fab. The girls in white was so chic. The fashion forward veil was great..though I don’t know how that bad boy stayed put all night.. what was the secret?? And I loved that she had a monogrammed runner at the reception rather than the ceremony. I may have to steal that idea.

26.
qwerty says:

absolutely LOVE the attendants is white! it’s striking and stunning and each of them looks fabulous! no confusion at all as to who the bride is! LOVE it!

27.
Casablancabride says:

MrsOpie has one of my favorite bios. *sigh* Her wedding was simply beautiful and now she’s using her amazing skills as a wedding photographer. :)

28.
JangerToBe says:

I personally love the all-white dresses that the attendants are wearing. Like Marissa said, it actually IS tradition, but even if it wasn’t who cares? The best part of seeing these Knottie bios every week is that they’re all different and unique. I wouldn’t want to see one cookie cutter wedding after another, personally :)

29.
Kira says:

Yay for a Nashville wedding!

30.
pattyb says:

I love all the white bridesmaid dresses, I think they’re gorgeous and flatter each one of them. She pulls of the veil well in my opinion, I certainly couldn’t do it but WOW those are some great photos.

31.
carly says:

Weddings are all about personal style! That’s interesting about the tradition of white bridesmaids dresses - I just learned something new. Overall, I think both weddings are beautiful and show off the brides’ unique styles.

32.
Marissa says:

“That’s interesting about the tradition of white bridesmaids dresses”

To clarify, I meant it was tradition for them to all wear the same/similar dress…but not necessarily a white one. The bridesmaids looking similar to the bride is an older tradition than wearing a white wedding dress! ^_^

Miss Shortcake says:

@Marissa: that’s right Marissa! Dressing the bride and bridal party alike for protection/confusion was a tradition (speculated though),thousands of years ago (before the fall of the Roman Empire), whereas wedding “white” is relatively recent!

Until Queen Victoria married in a white gown in 1840, brides would wear their best dress, or have a “Sunday” dress made for their wedding - getting multiple usage out of the dress was key. Getting married in white before Queen Vicky was uncommon, as a white dress was expensive to maintain and impractical for everyday use!

wsukarebear says:

I LOVE that monochromatic look of the first wedding and although it’s not my style and could not pull it off, the veil is pretty daring/amazing. Two great weddings!
