About Miss Lovebird

Guess what Mr. Lovebird just got his hands on??? Wii Fit!

We’ve been anticipating its release for months now. Mr. Lovebird said there we about 50 people a head of him at Best Buy lined up before the store opened, and he got one of the last ones. He said “it wasn’t as bad as before.” By “before” he meant the times (yes, more than once) we camped out through the night to get the actual Wii system when it was released in the winter of 2006. What can I say, he’s a techie and I love him for it. Apparently, it’s sold out in most places and you’ll be lucky to get your hands on one since it was just released in North America today.

With about 6 weeks until the wedding, I’m not sure if I’ll see results, but I’m gonna try to use it everyday! When we first got the Wii, we used it constantly and my arms would be sore from all the bowling and tennis. I’ll let you know how it goes!

Anyone else planning on getting Wii Fit to help them get in shape for the wedding?

my guy had a reserve on it at his local game store, so he should be going to pick it up today. i am very excited about it, but since we’re still doing a long distance thing, i won’t be able to get into a routine with it as of yet.

ooh, but you should check out “weski”. it uses the balance board and i think you can even use your miis in it go skiing. :)

Oddz says:

I had pre-ordered mine from Amazon. Waiting for it to arrive. Wiiii….

Veronica says:

wow, I’ve been pondering about it but was leaning towards the real thing with yoga DVDs. But the skiing did seem fun!! Let me know!!

MsAnge says:

I want it sooooooooooooo badly! My fiance claims he’s going to have one for by the time I get home today…. Considering he never pre-orders gams, I highly doubt this :-( (I had to be the one who dragged us out of bed early one Wednesday morning last summer to get a Wii when I couldn’t stand waiting any longer for the Pirates of the Caribbean game)

JC says:

I ordered mine from Amazon and its at home waiting for me! Yay!

We got the game this morning. Looking forward to playng with it when I get home today. This game is pricey though… about $90! And it’s selling out quick. I heard it’s going for a lot on ebay right now.

i wonder if it can really substitute going to the gym or doing “real” exercises…?

Soon2BMC says:

We pre-ordered one! I can’t wait to see the results. :)

Teresa says:

I’ve already spent 40 minutes on it today. The games are fun. We also bought We Ski but I haven’t tried it out yet.

Sorry Touc!

But here’s a treat I forgot to mention in the post. Besides Mr. Lovebird being a techie, he’s also quite the bargain shopper and doesn’t believe in buying anything retail. That’s why he didn’t just pre-order it.

I totally want Wii Fit!!! I’m not sure if it could get my big butt into shape (I’m counting on spinning and kickboxing to do that) but seriously this looks like SO MUCH FUN!!!

Let me know what you think! ;)

Namine says:

I AM SO EXCITED WE GOT ON TOO!! But I haven’t cracked it open yet. We always wait for both of us to be there when we try a new game and he’s working :(

Mrs. Radish says:

I want one SOOOOO bad!

I have been playing Dance Dance Revolution on my Wii a lot lately and that’s been pretty good exercise but I really want the Wii Fit.

Maybe I’ll get lucky and I’ll be able to find one somewhere.

lou says:

Yep, already on pre-order from Amazon.

Just hope I keep it up … I feel Mario Kart may be more tempting :)

Linda says:

Cue scene at the Plumerias’ at 6:30 AM today:

Mr. Plumeria: [does weird waving balancing act while grinning broadly]
Me: Huh?
Mr. P: [stands in awkward yoga pose]
Me: Huh?
Mr. P: [exasperated] It’s Wii Fit day… don’t you remember???

… yeah, we got one this morning too. :)

AliCherri1 says:

@EDB: LOL @ the Wii Fit looks good w/ anything from Ikea!
Yeah, I totally want one too!

alli says:

I just got mine today too!! I drove to Toys R Us at my lunch break today and since I still had some time left I ran home and tried it out, I couldn’t resist! :) It’s really depressing when it actually gives your character a little heft that corresponds with your weight…. :/ But it’s still way fun! Hopefully it’s the fun I need to get into shape!

elizabeth says:

While it looks like a lot of fun, the FI actually wants it more than I do–I can’t help but be a little worried about a video game that calculates your BMI (especially one that is hooked up to the internet!). We’ll likely get one eventually, but for now it’s actual tennis, ballet DVDs and intense yoga for me. Along with the occassional boxing match on Wii–now THAT is a great workout! :-)

Mrs. Lemon says:

Got my WII along with 5 other crazy people at my private island Target. Mr. Lemon bought one for my mom @ Fry’s.
I DDR all the time… so if I can fit in guided yoga too, no harm in that!

JangerToBe says:

The dude and I are going after work to pick ours up. I can’t wait! I doubt I’ll be able to tone much in 2 1/2 weeks, but whatever :)

Mr. Mags and I stumbled upon a Wii at Wal*Mart last week - score!

And I emailed him today to let him know that (hint, hint) Wii Fit would be a FABULOUS birthday present (it’s in just over a month).

No, I am not subtle at all. :)

You should be able to see changes in 6 weeks if you work at it - have fun!

jnicholea/thatbride says:

I didn’t realize how lucky we were to have one! We bought one of the pre-purchase cards so we didn’t even have to wait in line. Aren’t the lunges and pushups the hardest thing you have ever done? And doesn’t the balance part make yoga 1000 times better?
