Do the Bunny Hop!

May 22nd, 2008 @ 12:25 pm by Miss Candy Corn

I think I found my dream wedding shoes. So far, everyone I’ve shown these to has giggled at the idea of me wearing these as my wedding shoes, but I just can’t help myself. Luckily for the bunny haters out there, I can’t find them in my size (7.5). Boo!

So, I’m asking the great Weddingbee readers out there to comment with their shoe suggestions! I definitely want to wear flats (the only reason I was considering the wedge was because of the adorable bunny goodness), but I’m pretty much open to suggestions on color & styles. Just to refresh your memory, our colors are blues & browns, so it would probably make sense if I got a pair in that realm (or an ivory).

If I could afford them, I would totally splurge on Marc Jacob’s mouse shoes, because I’m 9-years-old at heart:

But alas, I am more of a Target kinda girl, so I’ll have to keep dreaming.To give you an idea of my sense of style, here are some shoes that I’ve been drooling over, but simply can’t afford (I’d like to spend under $100 for the shoesies):

(These totally don’t match but I still can’t resist their cuteness)

Thanks in advance for your help and don’t judge me too harshly for my poor taste in bunny footwear!

Knowing your love for bunnies, I think the bunnies shoes are GREAT! So sorry they don’t have them in your size.
I’m partial to the flat second from the bottom.

Ahhh!!! Bunnies… so cute! :)
I tried to do a quick search for you… but like you I came up pretty empty. HOWEVER, I did notice Nordstrom did sell them online at one point, which means you might be able to go to a store and have them track down a pair for you. :) I’ve done that 2x at Nordstrom - with success!

I LOVE the bunny shoes! Pish posh do the nay sayers. Seriously, how cute would those shoes look peaking out of your super great dress? Plus, didn’t you save on the dress? Maybe you could splurge on the shoes, if you could ever find your size. The cute-non-matching blue pair are great too.

Haha! Those are cute, though I can’t imagine wearing them for my wedding! I also wanted to wear flats, so I got some really cheap dark red satin ballet pumps. They are too cute! And they go with my BM dresses, not to mention being my own personal ruby slippers (makes sense when you know how much I loooove Judy Garland!)

I found some satin flats at the Diesel outlet this past weekend for my “second” reception shoe. Mine are white and pink but I found them with blue flowers on Zappos. They are soooo comfy but they do have a tiny-tiny rubber sole, if that does not bother you I totally try them out. The name: Diesel Martha W - listed as $70 on Zappos but I purchased mine for 30, so you might be able to find the blue ones on sale somewhere.

Those bunnies need to be on your feet! Have you tried searching ebay?

I was just at Target last night and they actually have flats that are very similar to your 3rd and 5th options. I think they had them in a copper, a rose gold color and maybe a silver? I already looked online and they aren’t there, but maybe your local Target has them!

I love how many opportunites wb gives me to go virtual shoe shopping– even if someone else ends up with the loot!

One quick question, what shades of blue and brown are you working with?

Another possibility, if you are willing to go a little over-budget, is having your shoes hand-painted. This is what I did for my wedding last year using the wonderful services of CLP Studio ( http://www.clpstudio.com ).

The shoes pictured on her site are mostly casual, but she did a gorgeous job on my pointy-toed retro-style shoes as well. She did mine from a photograph, but I’m pretty sure she could put whatever you wanted onto footwear. And Cindy, the artist, is a total doll to work with. PM me if you’d like me to email you some pics of my shoes.

I love the bunnies! My colors are blue/brown also, and we’re going for a slight retrio/vintage vibe. Here are my shoes: http://www.endless.com/dp/B0012ONL5E?tag=dealtime-endless-20&linkCode=asn

I got the bone/black color combo. They look like wingtips for women and they’re pretty darn comfortable. They run big. I’m a 6.5-7, and I ordered the 6.5 and they’re still roomy. And just under $40, too!

@Miss Toucan:
ohhhhhhh, I’m so stalking Nordstroms. Thanks for the tip!

@Lozza:
Oooooooh, very tempting!

@Eileen:
Someone is totally going to Nordstrom’s on her lunch break tomorrow, and by someone I mean meeeeee!!!

@sarahbe:
Those are really cute, thanks for the suggestion! :)

@Leticia:
Oooooooh I love these but black doesn’t really go with my dress. I’m tempted to paint those navy hehehe. SO CUTE.

@Miss Gingerbread:
I tried, with no luck. Perhaps I should just keep searching. I have until October, afterall!

@beanchar:
Ooooooo very cool. I’ve painted shoes in the past, so I’m half-tempted to paint my own for the wedding and do something cute.

@gir:
During my shoe shopping yesterday I was thinking to myself how there should be more wingtipped shoes for gals. This is geniiiiiius.

@katherine:
Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll be sure to stop by Kohl’s soon!
